Radiator fan question

I notice the radiator fan turns on quite often, even when the outside temperatue is around 10C and the car had being running for about 10mins!! Is this normal?

Once the engine is warmed up to normal operating temperature (around 175 degrees Farenheit) and you come to a stop, or are going through town where there isn't a lot of air flow through the radiator, the fan will come on when the coolant temperature reaches 200 degrees. It doesn't take very long - so, in that case, I would say that it is probably normal.

Another thing - if you have your defroster on, then the air conditioning compressor is cycling off and on. When the A/C is on, the fans are on, too!
