Fit 2009 top speeds

Considering buying a 2009 Fit with 104,000 miles. car appears in great shape, but seems quite slow when above 65-70 mph. I drive on highways, and in the NY-NJ turnpikes, and sometimes need to accelerate to at least 75, and be able to push hard to avoid trucks, jerks in cars, etc. I also drive uphill, sometimes with passengers.

Can anyone tell me of their experiences with the Fit at high speeds?

If it won't go faster than that, then there's something wrong.

I got stuck between multiple 18 wheelers on the highway and got up to ~102mph relatively quickly trying to get out from where I was.

Top speed though? No idea.

I have an '09 Sport.

My 2008 Fit seems quite slow when it's below 20 mph, but when it's going more than 70 mph, it seems much faster than it does at lower speeds.

My nephew got his 09 Fit Sport up to 120 mph when the speed limiter kicked in.

Normal expressway speeds around Chicago are 70-85 mph. I've surprised a few BMWs and Mercedes with my Fit and have no trouble keeping up.

From what I recall, a 2010 Fit 5mt will do 0-60 in 8.2. Tops out about 110.

Have a '13 Fit. Top speed is supposed to be 110, drag limited.

I have an 09 sport MT and in fifth gear on the highway it won't take off, but downshift to 4th and I could get out of any tight situation. not sure I ever want to do 110 in this car

When I put lighter weight wheels on my 08 it made a VAST improvement in passing and general oomph in the car. Surprising that the GD sport wheels are actually quite heavy.

honestly i felt like a sitting duck on the expressway especially the GE AT.. where i'd stick a pass in my other cars, i need to wait and just take it slow and easy on the Fit.

the fit shines around 65mph on the expressway for its mpg, but its natural habitat is surface roads.
