2008 or 2009 Fit Sport MT?

I have a 2008 Fit Sport MT on order, but was reading the reviews of the 2009 and wondering if I should wait. I am mainly getting this vehicle for gas milage and cost. Anyone heard anything about pricing for the 2009? You can't get any kind of discount on the 2008, so if 2009 are near the same price, but with more add-on's I might wait. Any help would be appreciated before I drop my cash on the 2008.

Thanks

lowboy

No word on pricing of the 09. I expect a 1000$ increase. Putting the Fit S AT around 17500$. Thats just my guess based on Honda's trend with new models.

that sounds about right. a top level fit being the price of a midlevel civic.

i dunno about seeing a discount on the 08 though...it has no problem finding its way off dealer lots.

so basically, the new one will be a bit more expensive initially, but it may (and probably will) do a bit better on gas and be more 'refined'. if you have any plans to modify the car though, the old one is the way to go.

+1 on the $1000 increase. 08 AT sports are selling from 17,2 to 18 now.

Wait for an 09. When you buy an 08 your basically buying 7 year old technology and design. Just wait 3 more months and you'll be one of the first to have a 09 Fit on the road. If you like the old body style just buy a used one and save yourself a couple thousand.

I would wait. There are a few instances where I didn't like what Honda did with a sucessor of a model (Integra/RSX, CL), but in most cases, they really do a great job. I didn't like the new Accords at first, but after seeing one in real life and driving one, I think they are awesome. Same for the AP1, AP2 S2000's. Wait for the new model.
