Joining the club! What to get instead of the protection package?

So I am getting a brand new Fit EX 2017 on Monday, and I am pretty excited about it.

I need some advice- so I read up that the Protection Pack ($450.00) is heavily marked up stuff- If I were to decline the package, what would be the best place to look to get some of the things that are included in it? (At obviously a lower price?)

Thanks!

Every dealer may include different things as part of their own package.

What would yours include?
How much can you DIY?

(part of this is copied from another post)
Fabric Guard: 297.00
Paint Sealant: 359.00

You're gonna pay 650 for a kid in the detail department to spray half a can of Scotch Guard in the seats and put a coat of strong wax on the paint.
Pass. DIY that if you want it for $8 (Scotch Guard) and maybe $15 for paint sealant and a little time and elbow grease. (or $4 for a can of old fashioned paste wax)

Undercoat....I'd pass also...The cars are already undercoated from the factory, and very few people with a spray gun (or rattle can FFS) would improve upon what's already there. From what I've seen on dealer undercoated cars, I think a specialist may do a much more effective job.

Door edge guards: I prefer the all metal guards in matching body color.
Simple DIY if you want it. Shop online if you want to DIY.

Splash guards: I personally like them, but I wouldn't want to pay to have them installed. I'd like to have mine in body color but the cost to have a set custom painted is unreal.

All weather mats....maybe. Check Weathertech in addition to Hondas. I prefer Hondas for looks...and Hondas list price for these is lower than on the weathertech site.

Body side moldings: buy for looks if you want, not protection. They seem too low to prevent most door dings.

Nitrogen in the tires: HELL no, it's just a costly gimmick with little tangible benefit. The free air is already 78% Nitrogen.

Just my opinions.

Many dealers have parts catalogs online and sell at far below MSRP, but sometimes shipping can be high so research first.

F the protection package. Do not pay for BS like that. You can easily order your own accessories online for cheaper. And they are not hard at all to install.

Take that protection money and order youself a rear cargo cover, and some Husky/weathertech floor mats. Keep the change and take the fam out to dinner.
