Until you exceed the capacity of the CVT by 1 lb/ft. I suspect it's super weak given that it's even turned down in stock form for the CVT.
With nothing but tuning, Hondata has found they can exceed the capacity of the CVT in the 1.5t and that's probably a stouter CVT.

But isn't the 3-cyl Turbo just a rumor still? You really think Honda will put a new engine in the final model year of production?

I think what's more likely is they will run this generation as a 5 year model like they did the last generation Fit and Civic internationally.
That would mean that the GK could have the 1.0t for two model years (19 & 20). Like they did with the GE, the last two years would be an update for that chassis code.
I'm betting we don't see a new chassis for the Fit until 2021, but I could be wrong.
