He said they left the scene. So nothing happened to them they just drove away.

Well I dont know what to say.... I will keep you all posted. Yes the fit saved me some injuries. The other driver was taken away in a cervical coller and on a backboard.... My shoulder is a little sore and some miner muscle soreness but I think it is not a problem. Stay tuned for more details in the near future

I hope all is well with you and the other driver's health! That's most important! Glad the FIt allowed you to walk away instead of on a back board and a neck collar. (But then again that guy is probably filing a law suit against the insurance company for pain and suffering.) They all do that nowadays! Crooked lawyers and doctors! (I'm not trying to Dis-respect any fellow FitFreak doctors or lawyers or friends nor family. Just the crooked ones!)

As far as injuries go you could rationalize that 35 mph is not fast however I stopped within 10 feet. Rapid decelaration causes injuries. The other driver was moved in a twisting motion wherease I hit head on. I am thinking the other driver at least sustained soft tissue injurie which will not go away easy. You know ligament torn muscle. I hope the pictures I posted on this thread will instill confidence that when in the Honda Fit you can walk away if you drive reasonably or get caught in a misshap as I did

crankshaft - there is a family who has a Silver Storm FIT Sport that lives somewhere out on Steamboat. They drop their daughter off at Capital High which is where I met them. My son drives our FIT (the first one delivered in Olympia in April) to Capital as well. He is sometimes out in the Steamboat area. So far we like the FIT, although we only have 3500 miles on it. I bought a Civic Hybrid at the same time and we alo have a 2002 Accord so we are an all Honda family.

Olyman, After I posted this message I looked at the image of Bigfit's Fit and noticed it was a base Fit, not the SSM Sport Fit I see occaisionally on SIR (I live almost to the end of SIR). The SSM Sport I've seen is one of only three I've seen in the area. The other two were a BOM Sport, and an NBP Sport. I wanted to have bought a Fit by now, but gave up due to the lack of availability, and the possibility of an all-new 2008 model.

The insurance contacted me today.... They declared it a total loss to repair. I am interested in a base manual or a sport manual. in storm silver or tafeta white. It does not look good.

You should see what the want as far as $ to buy it from them. You can always part it out and recover the $ if it's not too much and use the rest for spare parts when you get a replacement.

Sorry for your loss. Hope you can find another manual one that you like soon.

I was traveling in Number one lane doing 35 mph. The car next to me in #2 lane was stopped to let an oncoming car turn accross our lane. It was an SUV which blocked my sight.... The person I hit was being helped by a helpfull driver who left the scene.... According to WA state law they were liable for giving permission to oncoming traffic. Does this make sence
DOH! i feel your pain! the EXACT same thing happened to me with my old car except it was a minivan that blocked the view, not an SUV, and i was only going like 25, happened to me january 2006. Good thing you're ok though you might start having neck and back problems, i did. i got hit on the front corner of my car so i got like a sideways whipping on impact. as far as the party that told someone else to go ahead, i doubt that they are liable. In my accident, the driver who hit me was liable. The driver of the vehicle that hit you has to make the decision if it's safe to do certain things with their vehicle. If someone tells you to go when your light is red, you still can't go. (if someone tells you to go when there's a car coming that has right of way, you can't go) same concept i'd say. It's not like the person giving signals was a traffic conductor right.

... sounds like those weird Massachusettes law... ha! if you get to an uncontrolled intersection in Tax-achusettes then you have the right of way... if the cop did not see the accident then they do not give out tickets and sometimes when they DO see it they still will NOT give out a citation... just a couple of their traffic laws...
