Question Pumping brakes impact electrical???

So I noticed a few strange things that all seemed to start around the same time...

First, when I try to start my 2007 Fit Sport, sometimes it is completely dead. No electrical at all. No electric locks, no dome light, no dashboard lights, no starter. And sometimes the electric works just fine. Then I noticed something. If the electrical is dead, and I pump the breaks, the electrical sputters back on. Has anybody seen this before? Here's a video demonstration from earlier this evening:

Second, it's having problems at idle. The tach is dropping down much lower than normal (~650 rpm?). It's stalled a couple of times, and almost stalled many more times. At night, the lights dim as the rpms drop. And it comes close to stalling when I turn the steering wheel at idle. Here's another video, which shows the headlights dim out as I turn the steering wheel:

Third, every time I leave the car and come back later, the radio requires I input the security code. Which suggests the radio is losing power when the car is parked/off. Occasionally while driving the radio will blink out as well - apparently losing power, but not enough to require the security code.

I'm going to take the car into the shop tomorrow - it needs an annual inspection - but would love to go in with a working theory rather than a hodgepodge of weird behaviors.

I saw alot of POS cars in my life. Seems a bit like either Alternator or battery issue or both. I'm guessing its the battery crapping out from the symptoms. Also its probably got nothing to do with you stomping the brake to bring it back to life. The shop can test it and know immediately. Let us know.

Also the turning wheel requires power steering which draws power. Since your battery is shot, its completely logical that you would notice power issue.

Interesting issue. Op, can you avoid stalling behavior if you give the car a little gas while doing those things? That will eliminate about half the potential issues.

My guess tho is battery or alternator. How old is battery?

UPDATE: Cleaned the battery terminal, and the dead issue seems to have gone away. Fingers crossed it's not just a coincidence. I don't drive it a whole lot, so I'll need a few more starts to be sure.
