Where to Buy? (Calgary)

Seasons Greetings!

A few of you guys already know I am trying to find an el-cheapo deal on a set of 15" track tires just to beat on next spring. Does anybody know a local place in Calgary that sells Kobe Wheels? JDMish, feel free to chime in!

So far I picked out a set of wheels I want to get, but I can only find them in Vancouver over at 1010tires.com
Kobe Literace 15x6.5, 11lbs priced at 125$ each.

My fallback would be the Konigs
Helium, 15x6.5", 10.8lbs, priced at 110$ each.
Or Tiretrends has a decent package for 786$ that includes Falken tires; http://www.tiretrends.com/packages.php3

Also if anybody has a set of Motegi TrackLite's hanging around.....

Talk to Speedtech, they can get you those wheels. BTW I'd go with the Heliums, look like CE28n's

I thought about black, but after chopping a few photo's I decided to stay with a silver or gun metal colour.

Do you think they will price match or tell me where to go? The only think I like about the Kobe wheels more is they only have a 4 bolt hole pattern instead of a multi-bolt hole pattern. Also not really crazy about the 8 spoke wheels, 6 just looks a bit cleaner to me.

lol, then again at the end of the day I am not going to be too picky. I got my bling wheels for the summer already Just need some lightweight beaters for AutoX and driving school this year!

I don't know how the used market is in Calgary, but I would just keep lurking on local classifieds. You have at least 4 months to hunt for a set, sometimes, there are some pretty amazing deals!

As for brand new, don't forget Drag wheels too! They are Rota replica's, but they are also pretty light and much cheaper than Rota's.

Good luck with the search!
PS. Anyone got the front sway on yet? I'm really curious as to how it works out!

Thanks for the advice, I plan to keep my eyes open!

DaveVM has his installed, he wrote up a quick blurb on it under the "Group Installation" thread.

I'll be in the NE tomorrow after I get off work. I'll drop by and see what they can do in terms of package pricing for the rims you are looking for. Would you be interested in something that looks like TE-37's? They are 6 spoke as well and are probably easier to get a hold of than the ones you posted. Drag is a good alternative for cheap wheels.

I would be ok with that, don't push too hard yet though. I will be looking to get them in Feb or March.

How much do they weight?

Wow, these wheels looks super ripped off!

If I bought them I would totally slap two little black Enkei stickers on them and toss the drag wheels cap! lol

have you check out the sport max racing 003? similar to the helium. 0.7lb lighter (helium is actually 11.5lbs from wheelweight.net), and forged.. less than 50usd more each.

Sport Max 003

o ya, anyone know where i can get this within Canada?

I did some digging, even at the discount places that wheel is worth about 200$ each... twice what the Konig is. Yikes!

I got the weight for the Konig off of www.1010tires.com. One of the few online sites that lists the wheel weights. No idea where they get it from, probably just a shipping scale or something.

Sport max are great wheels for the price. We usually carry a few of them in stock and surprisingly cater to the Nissan drifters/drivers in our area. They are lightweight and have been standing up to the abuse that drift events dish out. I have a few colleagues that have been very pleased with the performance out of them.

Well after careful consideration taking into account both that Race City is shutting down in 2009 and a quick cost VS reward comparison. I decided to run Autocross on my 17's instead of picking up a set of 15's.

The cost of 195/40's seems to be more reasonable and with two options availiable from Tirerack now for less than 120$ each I won't feel too bad burning off a set this summer Kind of retarded that the exact same tires are 380$ each locally... taxes and install not included

So now my car can look sexy on and off the track.... kah-chow!

is this 17 inch combo you have right now heavier or lighter than stock? Also once we get to meet in person at the meet coming up I wouldn't mind a ride along this summer:P

The wife will only let me drag race not autocross because she says its too dangerous and I could lose control :P

I told her ok but my next project car will have at least 500whp and run low 11's high 10's
