My thoughts on the Fit after my trip to Seattle

My Fit really impressed me during the trip.

I went down to Seattle with my gf last night. I had my Kumho Kw17's tire pressure set to 33psi/31psi front & back. First of all I really liked how this lil 1.5L motor responded on I-5. And the car handled really well around the corners where the mountain is. It sure feels way more comfortable than my old SiR with SPOON N1 & zeal coilovers.

I ran into some really strong wind @ the skagit valley(?) area. Well for this compact car in stock height, all I can say is I still feel quite safe/secured. It doesn't feel scary at all! Yea I had to do some minor adjust on the steering once in awhile but not all the times.

Then I ran through this heavy rain storm last nite before I get into Marysville, and of coz the snow fall on the way home tonight. The tire pressure worked out great. I didn't slide around like a lot of people. Maybe I'm used to drive in the snow since I was in AB?

The kumho tires did a decent job in these kinda shitty weather. I can get the car rolling with no problem, & ABS doesn't kick in like crazy.

I really miss the feeling of driving my old car with LSD.

i'ved driven my honda fit to seattle 3 times over the summer and cruise between 130-150kms and it drives pretty smooth.
however, i drive there with a full tank and have to gas up halfway back( at burlington). other than that i drive my car about 12kms a day.

I have noticed that on Hwy 91 during a few occasions as well, it definitely felt much safer than driving a Chevy Astro when I was doing surveying in the north.

Time to slap on a LSD on the FIT and you won't be missing your old car afterwards la How was the gas mileage for this type of trip?

I was using Chevron 89octane for this trip. And still have a bit left after I passed the border. I put in 8.4gallon/32L or so after I passed Pacific X-ing on the way down. Drove for 470km and the needle is not pointing all the way to empty YET. But who knows, light might come on 10km after?

It was raining/snowing hard most of the time while I'm traveling on I-5 btw. Which I was using 3rd gear going 50kph or so most of the time while I was following a snow plow on the way back?

Engine was responsive enough . Of coz I won't call it a quick car but the L15 motor is impressive in 2000-3500rpm range.
