oil changes
#2
i just buy the oil and oil filter from kragen, pep boys, walmart, or wherever i can find it cheap and change it in my garage or in front of my house. i think that way is the cheapest and there's less risk of somebody messing something up. i know people who go to jiffy lube or just some mom and pop auto shops and they can get it done for ~$15, or u can find a coupon to use too. but i remember seeing an undercover news report where they found out at least one jiffy lube wasn't even doing any work on the car by using hidden cameras and marking their old oil filters.
i think some places let you bring your own oil and filter and they just charge the labor for it too. i'll ask my friends and if nobody tells you by then i'll let you know. oh i think one goes to firestone? do they do oil changes there?

My friend Rob is a backyard mechanic. He looked after my POS Hyundai Accent, Honda Prelude and now looks after the Fit. I get the friend rate on labour, but regular rate is 35 an hour. He does great work, has all the tools, has a good discount on stuff at lordco, and is a really friendly guy.

bring your own oil and go to any dealer. if you go the the one in the richmond auto mall, just talk to Rick (Rick@honda from the forum) or ask for the technician, Kevin Leung. Tell him that i sent you.
