Does everybody follow the maintenance lights?

Hi, May I please ask for some feedback please?
Since I bought my car in Jan 2007, I've had one oil change. Now, I had to have another one, but this time I also had to have "B1" maintenance. Is this necessary? I found that my parking brake now feels totally different after they "inspected" it. It doesn't move much anymore.
Also, they said that they rotated the tires, but I don't believe they did. They marked it off on the sheet, but then on the bill, they didn't list it. On the sheet, it said only Odyssey and Ridgeline were to have tires rotated.
I mean, do we have to follow exactly what those maintenance lights say?
Thank you.

Tire rotation will help keep your tire wear even.

But yes, I follow Honda's "recommended" maintenance.

I never follow the light, and only went to the dealer for the first oil change since it was free. I get my oil and oil filter changed every 5000km, always with recommended 5w20 weight oil and geniune Honda oil filter at my mechanics whom I trust.

whenever I do get my oil change, the reminder on the dash usually says I've still got 40% oil life remaining.

regular tire rotation is good, but uneven wear will be more noticeable on heavier vehicles. I'm near 20,000km and haven't seen the need to do it.

I follow the maintenance light. The parking brake being adjusted is part of the service as well.

B1 service also includes topping up all fluids, and brake pad inspection.
