Will ICBC cover snow damage ??
#2
Good question. I dun think they will because asking them to cover snow dmg is like asking them for rain dmg (rain in frozen state). Besides, ICBC prolly just gonna ask u why did u drive in the snow knowing that the road condition is so bad?
Unless, of cos, you "crash" ur car into the snow.... then that MAY be covered, but then u lose ur NCB + pay deductable - simplying filing the fact you crash ur car into the snow banks.
Dun u have an extra bumper? Maybe u wanna use it instead?

i think if you claim it under icbc to pay for it, you pay deduction and your premium will go up since its own fault. its better to pay a shop to fix it, it may be expensive at first but in the long run its a lot better then paying more premium.

Why not just ask them? My guess is that if it occurred simply from plowing through deep snow, it will be covered under comprehensive just like a rock striking your windshield. If you actually lost control and left the roadway, it would be covered under collision and you might be found to be at fault if you try to make a claim, so it might be cheaper just to get it fixed yourself.

I am very thankful the snow didn't do too much damage to me .....yet
I drove on #1 yesterday, and a big pile of snow dropped from sign posts above right onto my windshield while I was doing 80.....
I left work today and while doing so, trying to power slide in the parking lot....i nearly missed the huge garbage bins but ran into a big pile of snow.....very embrassing....~!
And I hit solid pack of snow a gizzilon times while parking the Fit at home....
of course, the scratches might be visible only when it gets more dry

Felix,
The damage to your front bumper would be covered by your collision coverage and therefore it would be subject to your collision deductible and it would also affect your Claims Rated Scale the next time you renew.
It is considered a 'collision' claim as your bumper 'collided' with the snow.
Dial-A-Claim is 604-520-8222

I wouldnt lie about hitting an animal... first thing is the guys at ICBC KNOWs what u hit... and its pointless to lie and lower ur credibility.. just my opinion.. i hit ice as well and its now at a shop.... may end up selling my fit for RDX for all that matter

if it's under collision, doesn't that affect your rate scale? meaning it counts as an at fault accident since as dom put it, you collided with the snow/ice, which is not moving. So it's the same as you hitting a street light?
Or is covered under comprehensive? like collision with an animal would be?
