I use the Hamp filter on my S2000 and it's a first rate filter! Otherwise on the Fit, I use the OEM 15400-PLM-A01 filter.

After reading around I'm under the impression the 15400-PLM-A02 is not as good as the 15400-PLM-A01 if you can find any (they are discontinued). The 15400-PLM-A01 is a filtech "assembled in USA," but the 15400-PLM-A02 is a honeywell/fram afaik.

I just looked and my new 2010 Fit Sport shipped with a Filtech 15400-PLM-A01 on it. A little surprising because the Fit was made in Japan. Kinda wierd the U.S. ships Japan oil filters?

Next best imo is a wix or Napa gold made by wix.

NAPA just had their gold filters on sale for 1/2 price. Not sure how often they do this but stock up next time you see it.

For clarification purposes only:
The filters are indeed interchangeable, the last numbers refer to the manufacturer of the oil filter. The A01 was manufactured by Filtech and is considered one of the best in terms of performance. The A02 is manufactured by Honeywell (aka FRAM) and are often considered inferior to the A01.

I would stay with OEM or the Hamp, as these are the ones specified by Honda. The link below has the A01 filters for $5.07 /ea. Handa-Accessories has them for 5.28/ea or a six pack for under $30.00. The real difference is in the amount of internal filtering media of the OEM/Hamp vs others.

I've used nothing but HAMP oil filters in my Ridgeline and Fit. Good quality.

If you want them locally, try these guys........

HAMP OIL FILTER 10 PC LOT 96-00 HONDA CIVIC EK D16 B16A on eBay.ca (item 400081563464 end time 24-Apr-10 15:59:06 EDT)

You can purchase them directly instead of through their eBay Store. They're in Richmond. A stone's throw from AJ Racing. I'm sre AJ Racing will match their price, too.

Edit: Buying the filters locally will be the best way to go as shipping will make buying them from the US not that great of a deal, even if our Loonie is on par at the moment. Plus, you will be charged duty on any product not made in the US. Also, in case you didn't know, all Honda's with the exception of a few older models, use the same filter. Like I mentioned before, my Honda Ridgeline truck uses the same oil filter as the one on my 09 Fit.

I'm not 100% sure, but I remember that the original oil filter on my Fit was a Made in Japan, Honda filter. My 06 Ridgeline's original oil filter was an A01, Made in the US by Filtech, which makes sense because the Ridgeline is not made or designed in Japan. Kind of sad, because there are no JDM stuff available for the Ridgeline. Anyway..............
