Oahu Dealers and a couple questions

Howzit? Thanks to everyone posting their experiences on this board. I didn't find this site until after requesting quotes and researching prices on my own. Here's what I got in writing regarding a Sport AT from Tony Honda and Windward Honda.

Tony Honda

Retail Price $19,060
"Special" Internet Price $18,065
Doc Fee $225
Licensing Fee about $200

Windward Honda

"List" price $19,052
Interweb price - not listed
Doc Fee $174
Licensing Fee $154.88

Also told that 12 fits of all types are coming in April or sooner.

Pfleuger Honda

Pending anything written, but was told that they would receive 2 in April and a black on in May for sure.

I guess my question is "are those prices for real!?!?" Also, I know it was listed that Honda Windward did deals through the Costco buying program, as I don't have a membership, can anyone tell me how much that would save? What have you all paid for your beloved Fits, if I may ask.

Of these Pfleuger Honda will charge the most. Way over $1000-2000+ over MSRP

Tony Honda wants to charge you as much as possible, usually $1000+ over MSRP. Sometimes you can find a Credit Union sale where they might sell a FIT in stock at MSRP. If there is none in stock at the time of the sale then too bad.

Windward Honda has one salesman that does Costco sales (see Gunnar) but the FIT is not part of that so they can charge anything. Usually about $1000- 1500 over MSRP. Usually at the start of the model year it's $1500-2000 over MSRP and later in the model year under $1000 over.

Most dealerships get about 3 to 5 FITS each month and they never know which colors and which models until shortly before delivery. 90+% are going to be Fit Sport with Auto transmission. They claim to see a base FIT once every 4 to 5 months and most Manual transmissions don't sell as well in Hawaii.

It's rare to have an unsold Fit in stock.

Note that it's very likely that both these prices are for the basic Fit Sport with Auto transmission before tax and fees or destination.

Given that MSRP is really about $16,070
you'd be adding $2000 for Tony's special internet price and $3000 for Windward Honda's price.

Are these prices correct? Yes they are if you are willing to pay that much.
Shop around and compare but since there are very few each month that arrive you can't be too picky or you will be waiting a long time.

I talked to Misty at Big Island Honda.

They have dealerships in both Hilo and Kona

They have Fit Sports in AT at both locations various colors.

They will ship to Oahu and send prep technician to get car ready for pick up.

They do sell with two packages already installed. One with wheel moldings, door edge guards and pin stripping, and the other package with floor mats, cargo tray, mud guards for the base fit.

Rough estimate is about $1700 over MSRP with the two packages and shipping to Oahu included.

Final price with everything state tax license registration doc fee and safety check for 2008 Fit Sport AT is about $19602. I think you can negotiate for less.

I'm seeing more ads by Tony Honda in Waipio to sell manual transmission Fit Sports for MSRP.

Seems that they are not selling the MT versions as well as the AT and both Sport and base models are in stock.

If you like performance I recommend the MT version in either Sport or base.

Tony internet price is 500 over MSRP according to the internet person I deal with. Give her a buzz "J. Koide" tell her the "massage guy" sent you.

Hi, I'm wondering if the Hawaii Honda dealers still have mark up on the Honda Fit
I am interested in buying one in the near future (Sport AT Model). Please share information about the dealerships that do not have mark up.
Thank you very much

Sure, Honda dealers always want to mark up the Fit since they are in very short supply. How much mark up will depend on supply, demand, and your determination to pay less.

Send me a PM if you are interested in purchase new.
Otherwise I did find a Black used Fit Sport for about $15K.

Update-

Tony Honda in Waipahu had three Fit sports in stock.

One orange Fit Sport with manual transmission

Two Blackberry Pearl Fit Sport with black interior in automatic
$16070 base AT Fit Sport
$635 destination
$16705 sub total

$2950 dealer markup
$72 wheel locks
$19727 total sale price

Since they have two BP Fit sports I think they might sell one at MSRP or $100 over. They do not expect any more in stock for some time, maybe two months. No word on the 2009 Fit- probably not coming until Sept 08 or later and not sure how many per month.

No base fit in stock.

One Tidewater blue Fit Sport AT just sold today.

That's around what I paid for my '08 AT Fit from TonyGroup. Managed to get the cargo cover, rear appliqué (I can never remember how to spell this...gotta always look it up), and exhaust finisher. I know folks have gotten their Fits for a lot cheaper though. I should've haggled more.

Considering it is a very popular color and AT it's not that easy to do better.
Dark colors and red could take longer to sell. SSM is easy to sell.

Bet you got the mandatory wheel locks. What about extended warranty?

Today I was checking on the 2009 Fit and the dealership knows nothing about it at all.

Meanwhile Tony Honda just got a shipment of Fits.

A few are still in stock and ready.

Base Fit with AT in Silver, just one. None with MT

Sport Fit with AT, none with MT
In Black, Silver x 3, Orange, Blackberry Pearl
