iwedyou: they even knocked off the "mandatory" dealer prep charge and I still payed too much. But I like the car! Just wish it wasn't so hilly here.

didn't care for salesman. car just got off truck and had 13 miles on it. it still had the shrink rap and dirt so i'm not sure where the milage came from. salesman said honda requires it to be driven 10 miles before it's put on the lot, lie!!! On Saturday a dog latched onto the back and put teeth marks on the bottom spoiler, shopping cart at walmart hit passenger side door.
taking for estimate repairs this week. my car was 24 hours old.... ouch

everything is in God's control,

$16520.00 MSRP

$ 480.00 "Protection Package" (wheel locks, cargo tray, etc.)

$ 300.00 Taxes

$ 287.50 Admin Fee

$ 25.00 License/Title/Reg

$17612.50

We wanted it without what they call "the protection package", but we also wanted it NOW. I guess you sometimes pay a little more for impatience. I'm still satisfied with my purchase. In the end that's all that matters.

MSRP Price + accessories

Hi guys, I just wondering if any of you pay MSRP price + free accessories? Or may be under MSRP + free accessories?
If so, how much did you pay? And how to get that kind of deal from dealer?
I appreciate your help

This is not true... We bought a Honda Pilot from an out of state dealer, it had 3 miles on it when we took it on a test drive. I still can't figure where the 13 miles came from? Maybe the truck driver? I doubt that he had keys? Anywho...

...mine had 11 miles on it when I bought it... and while I was signing the paperwork they used it to demo to somebody else! I saw a red Fit base with MT on Saturday. It must have just gotten off the truck since the dealer had it out front with the cruddy protection film on the top and hood. Talk about cheezy!

Ours still had protection film on it when we took it for a test drive. That is why I thought it strange to have 13 driven miles. We put 40 miles on while test driving. I ask if they would give me an hour to decide and the salesman told me to just take it off the lot for an hour. If we would of said no the car would have had 53 miles for the next person.... I would not have bought a new car with 53 miles. mimi

I understand that the occasional car gets pulled for additional test drives at the factory, which is why some cars come in with > 10 miles. The only thing you should be concerned about is miles that are put on AFTER the car arrives at the dealer.

I guess I got a good deal. After my trade in, I owe approx $2900 on my payoff, so that had to be added to the final price.

My fit is on order and will be here at the end of the month.

Black Automatic Sport - $19,300 out the door including payoff.

which means that without that payoff, the car itself was $16,400 out the door. I believe he took approx 800 off MSRP.

Wow. The markup between Invoice and MSRP isn't even that much. The profit (without holdback) is only $658 ($15970-$15312).

Good deal - he even cut into his holdback.

Hi Guys,
I am new here but have already found lots of useful info. I was told here in the Dallas area that it would be Oct or Nov before I could get one. There were none to test drive even. My brother in New Orleans has a friend in his yoga class who is a salesman. The same week I started looking, my brother called to say there was a red sport automatic on the lot that a deal had fallen through on. I called the salesman and he gave me the MSRP of $15,970 even though they had already done the "protection" thing. Even the salesman said that was BS. With destination charge, TTL (I had to do that myself here) and inspection the total was $17,669. I was a bit skeptical about buying a car based strictly on reviews and my brothers evaluation but I am very happy with my car. The dealer even filled it up before I left which got me more than halfway back! The dealer, Royal Honda of Metarie is a great bunch of guys. The car was detailed and ready to go when I got there and I only spent about 30 minutes doing paperwork.
I love my Fit!

I am surprised that after these few months, some people still can't buy a fit and most of people are still paying over the price i paid back in May...
i paid $17500 OTD here in Bay Area

i saw two fits at my dealer yesterday. one base one sport. both had msrp price on sticker - both msrp sticker prices are higher then they were in may. about $50.00 -my dealer sells msrp. dch accadamy honda nj. you can find it but you have to find an honest dealer. if dealers are price gouging you sould report that to honda. i read an article about that when i was buying my fit back in may and some dealers were gouging as much as 2000.

the car isnt worth that much especially with all the compitition around. you can now say hey i will buy a versa for that price and get a ton of stuff in it. (you dont have to mean it)
