Any dealerships in the SF Bay Area have a Fit to test drive?

Sounds like you'll need to actually contact the Honda dealers-- none of us have any idea on what they have, unlesws it's how long to wait for our own. Good luck in your search.

Where are you at? Maybe someone local could take you for a spin. Its not the same as driving it for yourself, but you'll have an idea. (Maybe someone would let you drive it, but no one drives my cars but me...)

I'm in San Leandro. I contacted San Leandro Honda, and they have nothing. They'll call me when they get something, whenever that may be.

As of Saturday, South Bay Honda (Los Gatos) has a red sport AT. Marked up, but on the lot.

Only dealers who have them in stock would provide test drives, but they sell almost immediately. I just got mine, and doubted the wisdom of putting down money on a car that I haven't driven, bought it anyway and don't regret it. Buy from Val Strough Honda in Seaside, CA. NO MARK-UP, great service, good people, worth the drive from San Leandro.

I went to South Bay Honda to see the red Sport AT last week or so, and it was already gone. Fortunately, the salesman let me check out his Fit, so at least I got to touch and sit in one. I put my name on their Fit list, even though he wanted over MSRP. I called San Leandro Honda to put my name on their list as well. I also called Val Strough Honda and yet another list. None of these dealerships even offer the option of placing an order. Oh well, I can drive my old Corolla during the wait - this all depends on whether or not I can sell my EVO for a decent price, of course.

Because of the long wait time to get a FIT there are none in stock to test drive.

In my area a test drive is unheard of. Seems stupid to buy a car sight unseen and no test drive. But demand outstrips supply by a large margin.

Track a FIT down and talk to the owner. Ask for a test drive- even a little one. I hear there are alot of FITs in San Francisco.

Call dealerships and ask if there are any executive demos that the sales staff are using- try for a test drive in one of those.

So far I heard of only one dealership outside Chicago that had one FIT to test drive- it's reserved for that purpose.
