I am posting here simply because I promised to do so. The whole rep points scheme is a stupid, meaningless, childish game. I only give rep points when I am asked to do so, and woud be happy to have zero points attributed to me personally. Recently Tyler (TOOL) showed off his "power" by banning me for 10 days. No big deal. Only children are dependent on these forums. My rep points went down to zero, which I guess is a normal aspect of being banned. Prior to that, my rep points were 17, with over 3000 posts, 98% of which were of a helpful nature to the fitfreak membership. When my ban ended, my points were up to 223. How did that happen? I would be quite happy with ZERO REP POINTS. This whole scheme is totally meaningless. Invented and perpetuated by children.

Yep, pretty much pointless... most forums end up turning off the entire system. It does build comradely between members though which is never a bad thing.

However, you haven't seen the "high baller" thread yet have you? Oh my... if you think this is ridiculous wait until you see this, lol

Uh, I'm reliving my childhood.

P.S. We took my dad to his forest get-away to fulfill his wish to get there one last time.

He gave up the ghost tonight.

He was 70. (3 score and 10)
Psalm 90:10 (King James Version)

The days of our years are threescore years and ten; and if by reason of strength they be fourscore years, yet is their strength labour and sorrow; for it is soon cut off, and we fly away.

All is well with his world, now.

Sure, I've seen it- just wouldn't bother to post on it. The people with the most points are the people with the least intelligence, education, training, and experience in the real world.

Thank you, friend.

He felt as if he was drowning and is better off.

He had lung cancer and it killed me to see him struggle to get to the porch to have a cigarette.

It gives new meaning to the phrase, "Dying for a smoke!"

Craig,

Thanks for including us.

My dad passed away suddenly last year, a week after his 85th birthday. I was going to Tucson the day before Mother's day, to surprise mom. The surprise was mine, when she told me he passed away early that morning. A cancer on the lung had attached to the heart, which was not detected in X-rays four months earlier. Non-smoker, non-drinker, and rode his bicycle five miles a day until less than a week before. Their 57 year anniversary was last August.

My best wishes to you and your family.
- Kirk

It's funny how that works... and even how it parallels the real world sometimes

"Duh, I got the most votes!"

Craig-

I obviously don't know you personally, but I feel for you. I will pray for the repose of his soul and that God comforts you in these trying times.

Pax tecum.
