What's the saddest song you know?

I'm not necessarily a country western fan but anytime I hear The Dance by Garth Brooks it sure tugs on my strings.

The saddest song I know is probably Lostprophets - The Light that shines twice as bright, Sway by the same band, Rise Against's Hero of War and Linkin Park's My December acoustic live. There are too many songs that are really sad, but great work by the artists.

Memory Lane, by Elliott Smith

- performed in 2003 shortly before he killed himself. The song is so calm, so resigned... it sends chills up my spine.

Game Set and Match, THE SADDEST SONG EVER

The Saddest Song Ever is "He stopped loving her today" by George Jones. Not the saddest song I've ever heard, the saddest song EVER WRITTEN.

Giddy Up Go and Teddy Bear.... You will have to go back a few decades to find these. I can't forget to mention another George Jones song "Grand Tour" but Arron Neville did it better.

YouTube - Phantom 309 Teddy Bear - RED SOVINE YouTube - Daddy's Girl It'll Come Back Freightliner Blues- RED SOVINE YouTube - Red Sovine - Phantom 309 When my son was about 10 or so he would ride with me on Saturdays on an Auto Trader route and I would play a cassette tape of Red Sovine's sad tear jerking country songs and laugh my ass off when he would start muttering "Oh NO" and start blubbering and crying.. I would stop to make a delivery and people would see him and I am sure they thought I had been beating on him by the way they looked at me and that would make me nearly pee my pants I would be laughing so hard.
