You must have been into psychology in the 60s. haha

Not subversive, but I have been called a contrarian.

I worked in mental health during the 70s... I wish I had stayed with it but I married a woman that thought it wasn't the Christian thing to do and the money wasn't good enough.

Arrow

"Zenith console TV" you say, WOW!, my Mom and Dad bought one back in 1976 when I was in 1st grade and they told me it was $700 back then. It was a whopping 25" screen with "zoom", I wonder if someone at Mazda had that and got the idea from them

Looking forward to the pics, where will they be displayed at here?

I am supposed to go to a get together in Flower Mound at a German guys house this afternoon... I hope he doesn't get weirded out by a long haired, bearded old freak skinny dipping in his pool.... I think he is supposed to be a liberal so he won't mind.

Where are we headed

Look around, we are there. All this jibber jabber and it's still the same as it ever was.

Just found this on one of my most favorite bookmarked pages and it prompted me to share: Welcome to Fishermen's Voice

It is all about the little things in life - they are all passing us by and we all know why. Will it ever change? Not in our life time.

YouTube - Talking Heads - "Road To Nowhere"

-----------------------------------------------------------------------
Status quo

There's always been a group of free thinkers who have tried to live 'outside' the social norms of consumerism.
I salute them all, however, the domestic/international economic systems are geared to make money.
Our society is a product of that system and, for the most part, our economy directly reflects that.

1971 - I'm discharged from a 4yr USAF gig. Back to college, first thing - I learn all about re-cycling. It's 2010, how long will this go on??

The bleak economic point we're at today is the result of a greed being exposed.

It will never go back to what it was 3yrs ago, at least let's hope not.

History has proven, however, that the pressure will be on maintaining the status quo or, more likely, a 'new' approach will be
legislated in to get 'us' to an even more advantageous place. 'us' is not you and me.

Vested interests say status quo and in the long run, no matter the legislation, status quo is always protected.

Problem is, no matter where it ends up The highest priority today should be focused on employment.

I don't see that happening.

There's a cloud of smoke and mirrors hanging over the fact that nothing 'effective' is being done.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
A New Old Think

Single Source Guide

R. Buckminster Fuller on PBS

This man's life is worth reading. A true progressive thinker.

I love the quotes [simply re-load page for new quote] - the video resource is crazy.

To understand him as:

R. Buckminster Fuller - Inventor, Designer, Architect, Theorist (1895-1983)

R. Buckminster Fuller / - Design/Designer Information

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
It is About Us

Everyone polarizes - the issue clouds over - strife and controversy - name calling in accord with sound political propaganda - the status quo prevails.

This isn't contrived - it's playing off humane nature. WE LOVE IT

It's so much easier to hide our heads in the sand and rely on 'them' to fix it. Oh they will alright, same as they ever have.

Happy Labor Day comrades. Did we earn it?????

I cannot believe the arrogance of those environmentalists! How dare them!

Oh yeah...oil extraction's sooooo safe now! Definitely does NOT blow up multiple rigs and send tons of crude into our oceans. Nope, doesn't do that.

Passive? Middle East? Hah! We need to stop PUSHING our ideas on everyone else! Let them be Muslims. They've got good people and greedy ones too. I, personally, know lots of awesome Muslims. And I am wise enough to know there are many many more out there.
You can chuckle if you like. I know an insulting tone when I read it. Petroleum is what has fueled our prosperity and that of the world since the early part of the 1900's. However it is a dangerous substance to work with, and also there is very flammable natural gas that hangs around in the same areas as petroleum, thereby giving us the potential for explosions.

The planet itself leaks oil all the time, right out of the bottom of the Gulf and the other oceans. That's where the ubiquitous tar balls come from, usually. The BP well was a very unusual incident, but as you have now seen, did not cause permanent damage (with the amount of water in the Gulf it is like putting one drop of oil into a large bathtub and expecting to find it a day later). Those wells are amazing feats of technology, which would not have been possible without a lot of technology and skill.

Having a profession does not make one "addicted" to that job, would you consider yourself "addicted" to teaching? Looking for crude oil to run our cars, businesses, and homes is as honorable a profession as any other. Drilling the wells, producing the hydrocarbons, refining them, all are great jobs to have.

The difference between us, Btrthnezr3, is that I have been around long enough to experience a lot more lies from the media than you have. Back in the early 70's it was the danger of DDT, which was a lie. The banning of DDT killed milions of people though, from malaria. Then it was the next ice age, oh wait before that they said we were over-populating the planet and all the food would run out (that one was handy to justify legalizing abortion). Then pollution, then the next ice age, then acid rain and the hole in the ozone. Now we have "global warming" and again, some people fear overpopulation. At least the global warming hoax was finally exposed for what it is.

We need to be careful what we believe. Examine where these things come from and who is spreading them. And never stop questioning what is being said and by whom.

People who are pro choice are not pro abortion.

And just because you are older than me does not make you wiser.

I also refuse to believe that the oil leak had no I'll effects. That's what they'd like us to believe. No shit there is natural oil leaks, but not like that.

Just feel whatver you will. I'm on my way to the icu where my friend is very hurt. Deuces.
