Roof Bike Rack?

I attend a lot of city rides, critical mass rides, rides that I have to drive to because they tend to be 20-40 miles away. So I figured I would inquire with fellow fit owners:

Where can a find a decent bike roof rack at a good price?

I looked at racks at local bike shops and big box sports stores and price tends to be between $400-$500. Will buy one if I can't find a better deal but obviously looking for a lower price lol. So thanks for reading my long post and thanks in advance for any help!

I personally don't own a roof rack but I have read here and other forums, one of the cheapest way is to piece it together. You just have to find out the part numbers, then search the classifieds, craigslists, ebay, etc. to get what you're looking for.

Thanks for the ideas! I have thought about the hitch and rack, had one on a truck I owned, but I like trying new things so I'm going for the roof rack. I'm going to start researching some part #'s and probably piece it together, thanks.
