95 Integra ABS Light stays on

The brakes on my 95 Integra were scraping for a few weeks, then the ABS
light came on a few days ago, I got the brakes done yesterday but the
light always comes on 20-30 seconds after I start it up.

Would disconnecting the battery reset the ABS sytem? Anything else I
might want to try to get rid of the light?

Thanks

Disconnecting the battery might reset it, but the ABS is reset every time
you start the car and it does a self test, so it will probably be right back
on 20 seconds after you start it the next time.

You can make it blink out a trouble code to see what its problem is. First
check that the fluid in the ABS reservoir is up to the line. Short the SCS
connector with a paper clip and turn the ignition switch to position II
(warning lights come on, but don't start the engine). The ABS light will
blink out a code. Let us know what you get and somebody here with an FSM
can look it up for you.

Since the problem seems to be related to the brake job, its possible that
one of the wheel sensors was dislodged or damaged. That is probably the
cheapest to fix problem you can have.

The light is simply a warning to you that the ABS function is disabled. If
you don't want to fix it, put a piece of black tape over the light and
remember to pump the brakes when you start to skid.

When the light comes on BEFORE the car moves, it's because the system
can't build pressure. If it comes on ONLY after the car starts to move,
then it's a wheel sensor. Bleeding and exercising the ABS is a great
idea, but you'll need some icy streets or dirt road to give it a good
workout. I'll send you a PDF I found.

On my '95 Integra and '96 Odyssey, the "can't build/maintain pressure"
signal came on after a minute or two of driving. It tries to pressurize
several times before it gives up and turns on the light.
