1983 Accord starting issues
Hello All,
I have a 1983 Accord 1.8. The other day it died while I was driving. I pulled over and looked around under the hood, but couldnt find anything wrong. I tried to start it up and it started and I got about 4 more blocks before it died again. The next morning I tried to start it up and it started but promptly died. Now it wont start at all.
I have tested the honda fuel pump and it is getting power and pumping fuel. The carb was rebuilt about a year ago. I don't seem to be getting spark as I tested all 4 plugs for spark. The wires are new as is the distributer cap and rotor. The ignition coil is good also. Any ideas? Thanks in advance.

Is the distr. cap seated properly and fastened tightly? Sounds like contact between the top of the rotor and coil wire contact of the cap has been broken or separatede too far (is if the cap has become loose and has shifted)???
how many miles on the car? when i used to sell used parts the only engine parts for honda's i sold were alternators/ starters / distributers(complete) and body parts. Take a good look at the distributer
