Noisy Sunroof

Hey everybody,

I have a 2001 Prelude and suddenly my sunroof has started making this
incredibly annoying squeek. I've removed the angled plastic piece that
covers the hardware that attaches the sunroof to the car and checked
for loose nuts/bolts but everything's tight. Is there anyone else out
there with this annoying little problem? Thanx.

Sounds like a WD40 solution to me :-)

Is it an automatic/electrical one? Or do you have to push it open...

Electric. And it seems to run fine. It doesn't jerk or anything when I
open it. It runs smoothly.

Since your follow up post indicates that the moonroof opens and closes
smoothly, I have to assume you get a typical squeak when closed. On my '99
lude, I clean the rubber seal around the glass with Armor All and also wipe
the roof sheetmetal where it rolls over about every two months during nice
weather. Never seems to squeak in the winter when it doesn't get opened.

You can probably push up on the glass when closed, since there's likely a
little play, and hear the same squeak.

Re: Noisy Sunroof

Thanx bud, I'll try that. There isn't any play (thankfully!) in the
sunroof. And that's the frustrating thing, no matter where I push or
how hard I cannont duplicate the sound! But this is the worst I've had
out of it so I shouldn't be complaining! From what I understand I
shouldn't really expect any real trouble at all from my Prelude.
