actually one of the "selling points" (bragging rights) for the GTI is that its DSG actually shifts faster then Ferrari's

haven't driven a ton of automatics at the "sports car" level (seems wrong to me), but that Rabbit box shifts fast. It's pretty fun, and the best slush box I've driven. In sport mode, it shifts very high, and in tip mode, full control and quick shifts. I can get it to chirp from 1 to 2.

But I'd still rather row 'em myself. If I had a lot of traffic and a long commute, the VW would be on the short list.

I've owned numerous vehicles such as 06 WRX, 06 Impreza, RSX-S, VR6 Passat, 98 Intergra GSR, 92 Integra GSR, 3 Ford Ranger, 3 96-00 Civics. 02 Civic SIR, Tacoma and more that I don't car to mention. in addition I've test drove numerous makes and models.
test drove the Fit on saturday---very impressed with the 5spd manual---one of the smoothest I've driven.
