I just wish someone nice would have stolen it :p

Its surprisingly easy to get in for people who know how, i'm not sure how it compares, but my buddy locked it keys in his ford ranger and a cop came with some ruler looking tool and got the door unlocked in one pull. Said he used to do it for a living lol... I wonder if our doors are just as easy.

On my saab 9-3 you have the option of dead-bolting the doors. You twist the key to the lock position and take the key out (while still turned) and it bolts it so it can only be opened with a key.. A theif probably wouldnt even know about the feature

The window of my fit a few months ago was smashed into, and the bum took my GPS. I did hide the GPS, but he must've saw the plunger on the window. He only took the gps. He didn't even take the check my bro stupidly put in the glovebox a few days ago (he didn't even take it out)

I was parked across from Lynch's Irish Pub, right by Ocean Club. Screw that parking lot! I saw you at the Honda dealer yesterday, I was there too lol you were busy so I didn't say hi. I was getting my bodyside molding put on. I'm a little pissed that I didn't open the contents before going there because the guy just WINGED IT. I could have done that MYSELF. There were instructions he seemed to have not noticed in the box...oh well, it looks decent enough lol. Did you notice my visors are a little crooked and too low also? lol I'm all ****ed up man. Anyway I'm gonna go with a Viper alarm system probably.

I would compare a third party system like viper to the factory one... Probably would be around the same price. You could then get MORE features, like a longer range remote, remote starter, and auto locks.

Stay away from the factory alarm. That alarm will only go off if doors are opened while the alarm is armed. That doesn't do anything if they break a window.

Wow, man, you're havin' a rough week, there! Seriously, I am sorry that you got robbed, that sucks so majorly. This thread is very helpful, though, because I'm getting to review the alarms that are available for the Fit.

I was going to go with the Lo-Jack through my dealer, but my dealer is kind of a dick...didn't want to given those creeps any more money!

They pulled your registration sticker right off your license plate? The hell? I don't even get how that would benefit a thief.

Stealing the tags...ok. Stealing the sticker, that's just plain weird!

I do not know where "on point" is, but here in NY the registration sticker is a piece of paper taped to inside of the windshield. It maybe weird like that, wherever "on point" is.

Oops, maybe I'm getting the registration sticker and the inspection sticker mixed up! Sorry about that!

I was pretty damn scared when I noticed in the parking lot after leaving the club around 3am so I didn't bother calling police or anything. Just wanted to get the hell out of there. I just got robbed too... but I never leave any valuables in my Fit when I'm at home. All my valuables usually roll with me.

Anyway, I only saw about $3.00 or less in change 9including local arcade tokens) taken away. Surprisingly, my Aviator shades ($10) and my multi-duty knife and ac/dc adapter weren't taken.

I don't hate the dude... I figure he needed money bad or something. And most likely I forgot to lock up (I felt so wasted/spent after work yesterday...)

Well... now I need to figure out what to properly do with security. I bought 2 wheel clubs, the first i had to hack since i locked myself out a year ago, the second was a dud.

What other security measures are out there for the 1st Honda Fit? :hyper:

I wouldn't rely on auto-lock, I have had a few times when I have forgotten and if you go in and out of the car it won't lock itself.

the best anti-theft device (for someone trying to steal the whole car) is a hidden switch to the fuel pump power. you install the switch somewhere hidden and don't tell anyone. whenever you park your car in the dodgey end of town, you just flip the switch when you park. they won't be able to get very far without the fuel pump.

true. that would work. but they could always have an aftermarket steering wheel with them. i doubt any theif is going to carry a spare fuel pump.

plus a switch is a couple bucks at radio shack and doesn't sacrifice the airbag.

on edit: if you're just looking for an excuse to get an aftermarket steering wheel, then yes, this would work perfectly! :D
