Hormonal Teen + Prom Night + Carrera GT = What Do You Think Happened

This one comes to us from the offices of intrepid commenter Drachen, who chatted up the driver of this flatbed after seeing its cargo — the remains of a Porsche Carrera GT in an Atlanta-area parking lot. According to the driver, he'd just pulled an all-nighter driving from Miami to Atlanta to deliver the car to the shipping docks so it could be crated and sent back to Germany. Seems the car was destroyed at the hands of — you guessed it — a teenager, and on prom night, no less.

This is getting to be an epidemic here lately. First it was the flying M5, then it was a disintegrated SLR, followed closely by an upended M3. It's craziness. If you have a very nice, very fast car DO NOT GIVE THE KEYS TO YOUR DUMB KID. Given the baked-in stupidity of your average teen, mixed with the "Look how cool I am" braggadocio inherent in prom night, one would think this idea would have been self-evident to the Florida family who handed over the keys to little Timmy so he could impress his prom date. We have a secret for you, Timmy's dad: If you're loaded enough to have a Porsche Carrera GT, and Timmy can't seal the deal
without driving it, little Timmy is a failure.

The kid died in that accident?
I mean the car is totalled but looks like a livable crash to me.

Sad to see lose of a outstanding machine, but even more sad to see the lose of a young life(if he really died)

I have not heard anything to lead me to believe the kid died. No information to that effect.

Unless his dad killed him after he got home.:rotfl:

But, as I have posted elsewhere, you are much more likely to die in a crash with a CGT than almost any other super-exotic car. The CGT is infamous for killing it's occupants in even a relatively liveable accident.

How many wrecks have you heard of concerning an Enzo at 200mph+ that the occupants walked away from.

Yet there have been numerous accidents at 130-150mph where both people were killed in the CGT. A combination of super-rigid carbon fiber frame that doesn't crumple in a wreck, and the thousands of knife-like shards of carbon fiber shredding you on impact.

that thing looks stripped, not so much wrecked. no broken glass, missing wheels/panels. what body is left looks to be good condition.

That wasn't the smartest parental decision they could have made... (guess they know that they should have used better judgment now!)
I like the comment about the kid might have survived the wreck.. but prob. killed when he got home!

i dont understand... I've snuck out my mom's BMW 330i countless times when i was underage but never have i done anything to kill myself?... Well except hitting 135mph(speed limiter) but that was on an empty freeway at like 2:00am. hahaha but that's prolly the worst thing i've done. Honestly if i had my hands on a supercar i'd prolly floor it once then drive like a granny the rest of the time i have of it
