thinking about selling the fit

well its come across my mind a few times and we just got a 99 civic dx in from one owner that was a middle age lady. She pretty much had everything done here at Honda.
i still owe 5 years on the fit, paying $320 a month.
if i trade my car in to get this id be paying $100 less and id pay it off in 2 years at $320 a month
5spd dx
109xxx
perfect!!

I know exactly how you feel with the way things are going right now. And, at my work place the bureaucrats are on the rise with micromanagement and "cutting back". I always look at the fact that this is a hatch back and has many uses because of this. Just my 2 cents but that EK coupe could easily be bad ass.

right now i just feel like there is no hope for this car to be the way i want it to be. id love to k swap or something like that but that would be in 5 years after i pay it off.

i really dont need the room the fit offers either because i am the only one that rides in it.

I wouldn't. I mean, I've thought about sellin the fit but I would get an eg6 or somethin really cheap. And then get a daily.

Yea i have been thinking of trading the fit in and upgrading to something nicer. But i was looking into S2000, WRX, Mazda,Civic SI. But they were trying to give me 13,000 for it at honda toward a s2000 have not tryed any where else yet. But if thats the most i would get for it i am going to keep it for the next 5 years. I pay for it right now $330 a month but i am about to start paying more to just pay it off faster. If it makes u happy go for it man. I would if i did not owe so much on my fit still

what kind of racing do you plan on doing (autocross, 1/4mile,etc.)?

i would keep the fit for the mpg.

good financial move.

That, and if you decided to project car it, K swaps into those cars make for beastly sleepers.

You'll probably get the same mileage in that as the Fit, as well. Just spend the money on a good alarm/immobilizer system.

Yea, UI'm thinkini of going to our local honda dealer and seeing what/how much I can for teh fit cause I found a clean 91crx for just under $2k I think and ha sbeen owned by 3 people...2 older air force guys so teh miles are mostly hwy and another older guy who hasn't gotten on it much so yea, perty much near perfect. And then I'll have money for school and to fund my delsol/rx7(13brwdsol :) yes I'm serious) next summer. Cause I found a clean del sol and rx7's in my area :) and the rx7 I get a 2 for 1 deal, one that runs wonderfully and a parts car :) and it all would be for under $10k to do this lol. Then put a lil more into the crx to make it a bit comfier. I hate desicions. Just depends how much I'll have left to pay on the fit which currently is 17 no :/
Wish I'da just gotten the crx si with b18a1 swap I was looking at before the fit so bad right meow.

hope you decide on yers though. If you can get a fair price for teh fit I'd do it being you don'T reallyy need the space of teh hatch and won't be anything/much of anything to pay off which is amazingly nice.

The fit is very reliable. Trading it in for some sort of project car would be nice.

the miles on that car are not high.

i've had my fit for 1year and 2 months and i have over 35k.

i LOVE ek's. they are the ish. brilliant platform, and one of the best looking civics ever.

if you are actually going to better your situation, than thats a smart move. but no matter what, you WILL miss the fit. silver ek coupes are not exactly the rarest thing on the road, until you put your own spin on it.

last weekend i came this close to trading the fit for an 09 civic lx-s sedan.(rims, chrome tip, spoiler, leather wheel, si interior and white ext) it was nice, and it justifies what i pay everymonth for a car since its technically 'nicer' than the fit, but the dealer wouldn't get me where i wanted to be and i'm glad i didn't let it get the better of me.

but letting this become your project car could end up costing you more...will the amount of mods you pour into it counteract the amount of money you save on a car payment? will it be even more than what you paid for the fit monthy after mods?

it is your decison obviously, but those are some factors to consider. having said that, its very clean and good mileage.

!!! I just bought my Fit in June, and I pay a sliver under $300 a month, and have four years left. I don't know when you got yours but it shows you a member since 07 so shrug...

It sounds like you bought a new car when you were not really ready for a new car? Methinks you got screwed on the financing.
Having said that I personally would not dump the Fit, because it doesn't make sense financially to get rid of a new car within 3 years of buying it.

Regarding the civic, 100k miles on a Honda is not excessive mileage, especially for a 10 year old car. $7600+ for that car I think is too much though.

the miracle x bar is a special order item made for JDM fits only.
