Found a J32 from a wrecked Acura CL in the salvage yard

I was at the salvage yard yesterday looking for parts to yank and throw on my Geo Prizm (along with random Honda goodies like OE wheels and tires for my Fit) and came across a 2003 Acura CL 3.2 that had been rear ended. The front end and under the hood were untouched. Looked completely stock, and it had 60,XXX miles on it. The salvage yard wants like $200 for the engine. What would that go for online? I know it can't be swapped into anything, but I'm sure someone out there has blown up the engine in the CL or TL.

Yes, its pretty much a direct swap and the J32a2 is a much more capable engine then the J30.

I know this post is old, but I am looking for a vehicle just like this (2001-2003 3.2 CL w/ rear-end damage for pass. and front-end body parts). If anyone has any idea on where this particular chassis is, or something comperable...please contact me. It is greatly appreciated!

Next time I'm out I will see if I can find anymore. Yeah, this thread was started before the first V6 swap was completed. Now I wish I had bought it!!!!!

The red and black J-series valve cover looks good under the hood.

I actually almost bought a 98 Accord, Taffeta White with the J30 engine in it. I'm glad I got the Fit instead. The 98-02 Auto trannies were garbage. That's what kept me from buying one.

Yeah, they blow the third gear I think. And a manual trans for them is hard to find.

Salvage Acura

Hi everyone, if you are looking for manual or auto trans you need selection, so do not go to salvage yards, firs of all they are resellers, so you are paying much more, and you do not have selection.

I recomend go to

Auto Auction Help - Online car auctions Auto Auctions Salvage auctions Salvage cars auto salvage Sacramento CA 95746

they have access to Copart, access to IAAI, access to Salvage Direct, thousands of cars salvage and clean title from all over the country.

Good luck
