It was revealed a while back that the MK5 VW cars took 2.5X the effort to construct than the competition, and they were already looking to get MK6 redesigned much simpler and ditch 5 asap. So I decided to skip the GTI 4-door (the 200HP 2.0L) when it comes out later this year. VW makes a nice car, when it's working...
The Rabbit gets a 5-cylinder 2.5L that doesn't get stellar mpg yet only returns 150HP, while the 4-cylinder competition is getting better mpg and ~160HP. I remember that a GTI is 3300+ lbs, that's pushing 800 more than the Fit.
Hope they do really ditch the black rubstrip I saw in some other photos!

It is true Rabbits are back. The emblim is so cool.
I would like to own one but they dont compair to honda. Volkswagon does not release factory service manuals to outside journey level shops... It makes it a hassle to get service. I owned a rabbit diesle in the 80s. great car in many ways if you did not own a turbo. That is another subject on another forum.

Yeah, they are changing the interior materials and redesigning it because Europeans are not into how expensive the golf has become...so hence why we are going to get the "new" rabbit because it is a redisgned interior to cut costs. So although the interior looks nice in the new MkVs, don;t expect that for 15k large
