Just wondering how the Yaris is doing...

Since they have now been out almost a month now... I still haven't seen one, a coworker saw one in a parking lot ... the local papers hardly even advertise them. So how is the market going? are they selling? Are people waiting for them as well or what? just curious

My fiance has the liftback. Not a bad car, however the Toyota dealership only sold two. They've getting more sedans. No more liftbacks.

I have not seen one yet - the dealership in my town has yet to get their hands on one. They do have a new Pruis gathering dust on the lot - small cars tend to be rare in truck country.

I have not seen a single Yaris sedan/hatch on the road or on the street yet. I drive ~400 miles a week too.

I would like to see it in person.

I've seen a base hatch and a sedan at two dealerships here. Sedan looks like a nice car, but dull. The hatch is clean and has a good style in person, but with only 3 doors, isn't very useful. I can already tell from the Toyota hype they're gonna push the sedan more than the hatch I'd say. Personally, I think they've shot themselves in the foot again, ala the Echo -- they're offering two models no one really wants, and keeping the one that's truly cool and what people like, the 5-door hatch, out of the market. It's gonna be hard trying to convince someone that a 3-door Yaris is better than the 5-door Fit, even though both are mechanically excellent. I guess they don't want competition w/ the Scion xA.

Saw a Yaris on Saturday. Man they have one of the smallest boots I've ever seen. Most porsches have more space.

Guy was complaining about the boot rattling from his sub. Well his sub was hard up against the hatch due to the absolutely miniscule space. Pulled the boot inside plastic off absolutely no soundproofing / completely hollow. Such a contrast to the Fit/Jazzes deadening and cavoneous space.

I run a Crossfire BMF in the back of my Jazz and the boot doesn't rattle just blurs your vision at volume.

Actually, I've yet to see any 2007 Yaris models here in Northern Califfornia. I wonder why....
