Formula Ford to become Formula Honda Fit!!!

Believe it or not for about $12K Honda is offering to supply Fit engines with some serious tweaks as a replacement for aging Ford engined Formula racers!
Makes me wonder if we could "adapt it" for use in the Fit itself.

Interesting news. I wonder what they put into the engine?

Also curious about what REAL power this race-spec L15A i-VTEC is making. There's talk of air restrictors being put to equalize the max power output for the series - if derestricted, how much HP are these things making?

It reportedly makes less power in Formula Ford trim than it does stock...I think most of the changes are for packaging constraints of a formula car rather than performance modifications except for the dry sump. The dyno curves with the Fit compared to a reasonably competitive Kent are available on web or from the SCCA.

Am analyzing converting my Swift Formula Ford to Honda power now, pending approval for the class to come up for vote in October.

Update

I will be converting my Formula Ford to Fit power. The core engine is in my shop and the race prep parts are awaiting dressing onto the motor.

I do have several parts from the core motor that will not be used in race trim and are for sale. This includes a manifold cat, EGR, fly by wire throttle body and manifold, engine wiring harness & alternator. Its all up on ebay but feel free to offer direct.
