I'm betting on 5 speed with soft springs.

a part of me want to say that this will only have the v6 auto version when it hits here...but it is a "sport" wagon..not just a wagon...so they might just do the same engine as the 4 cylinder sedan one...with optional 6 spd manual.

the car will be heavier than the sedan...and u know how americans love power...so thats why i think its only going to be a v6...maybe to compete with the caddy cts wagon?

Having driven a 2009 Accord Wagon, I can say it rocks. I completely forgot I had all that extra room in the back when I was driving it. It wasn't quite as nimble as my civic, or the fit, but it didn't handle like the Ford Mondeo Wagon I had for work.

I think I might have to consider it as my next new car purchase.

that makes sense. if it's heavier probably will be released in the V6 trim and only AT. :( dang we need more V6 6MT cars...

I know the 2010 Accord has a V6 with 6sp MT as an option. At least the brochure I got from the dealer said so.

on paper, i would love to see acura put the 2.3l turbo in this...honestly thought honda had intended for that engine to find its way into more models than just the rdx, but thought i read somewhere it's relatively heavy and not very compact, hence its application remains confined to a cuv/suv chasis.

regardless, i'm a huge fan of wagons and can't wait to take it for a spin when it hits the showroom. unfortunately i think a manual is very unlikely. in the $30k+ category there's very little demand in north america for a manual wagon. that's why you can't buy a 6mt b8 avant and, even more tragic, why audi has no immediate plans to sell the supercharged s4 avant here.

I'm pretty sure the current JDM/European Accord came out with a 6-speeder. If that's what the TSX will be based on, then yeah I'd expect the same transmission to mosey on over to US shores. :D

Here's Autocar UK's review of the 2.2L i-DTEC diesel version:
Honda Accord 2.2 i-DTEC EX GT - Autocar.co.uk
Of more importance is the quietness of the engine at a steady cruise and the fact that it has the nicest transmission in the class, even taking the German quality brands into account. Six speeds are standard and come with a change quality that is light yet deliciously precise.

i agree, that is super depressing!

but even if this is only available with the v-6 and a/t we should be glad acura decided to give us a wagon at all! now on my shortlist after the fit.

an sh-awd version would be sweet....like a real replacement for the old legacy gt wagon subie was dumb enough to stop offering.

wagons ftw

I would pop a chubby if I had the scratch to get an Accord V6 with the 6MT. Hopefully someone will make a super charger or something for them and you can be pushing well over 300 whp. I think this is it. Credit: Wikipedia
  • J35Z3
  • Displacement: 3,471 cc (211.8 cu in)
  • Bore and stroke: 89.0 mm (3.5 in) x 93.0 mm (3.7 in)
  • Compression: 10.0:1
  • Power, torque: 271 hp (202 kW) @ 6200 rpm; 251 ft·lbf (340 N·m) @ 5000 rpm
  • Valvetrain: 24v SOHC VTEC
  • Fuel control: Multi-point fuel injection; PGM-FI
That will probably be the same one used here (unless they K24 it).

EDIT
Or possibly the J37 from teh TL.

J37A4 Displacement: 3,664 cc (223.6 cu in)
Bore and stroke: 90.0 mm (3.5 in) x 96.0 mm (3.8 in)
Compression: 11.2:1
Power; torque: 305 hp (227 kW) @ 6300 rpm; 273 ft·lbf (370 N·m) @ 5000 rpm
Valvetrain: 24v SOHC VTEC (intake and exhaust)
Fuel control: Multi-point fuel injection; PGM-FI

305 HP!!!!! All that torque! :drools:

I wish they just branded it under the Honda Accord instead of taking it to Acura. Luxury insurance :(

yah, honestly speaking i would much prefer the accord name as well. when you make it into an acura they need to put all sorts of lux crap on there to make it feel like an acura where i dont need it.

i mean hell, i'll take a nice accord one with dual tone black/mesh cloth seats and not much options if i could get a V6 version 6MT for under $29K. i think families with little kids need these wagons the most and i dont know about you guys but i dont feel like spending a whole lot of money on something that will get heavily used daily and dirtified.

It makes a perfect work/family vehicle. Honestly, aiming it at the luxury market doesn't make sense to me considering who would actually USE this.
