2009 toyota corolla
2009 toyota corolla
so this past thanksgiving weekend I drove up to Las Vegas....and I rented a 09 corolla, auto.
the first things I had noticed that were nice about the corolla:
1. MUCH MUCH MUCH quieter...esp. on freeway
2. better seat support.
3. an extra full circle turn on the steering wheel. not sure if it has a better turning radius than our fits, but it definitely felt like it turned a tighter turn.
4. more leg room
5. mpg wasnt bad for a 1.8 liter. got like 350 out of the tank to vegas...this was at 80mph
Cons:
1. felt slower than my fit on acceleration..but once up to speed it felt quicker than the fit (this was auto)
2. at 80mph, the car was almost at 4k rpm...kinda high
3. the corolla i rented as the LE trim...no cruise control...kinda annoying. i believe all civics has cruise control?
4. the steering is crap. it felt sooo loose compare to the fit
5. audio system SUCKS. the fit has MUCH better sound and bump to it
6. cup holders were not great either..kinda small and not enough!
also, this is all relative..but sleeping with the seat reclined is not that comfortable in a corolla (dont ask why i was sleeping in the car.. -_-)
i now know why a majority of parents want to get civics and corollas for their kids as their first car...the corolla is def. a cruiser..with decent acceleration and easy turning/ visibility.
