Is JAZZ Made in Japan?

Hello ,

I'm from Israel.
In Israel the Fit's name is Jazz.

Before the terrible catastrophe in Japan i was positive about buying HONDA JAZZ 2011 CVT or Hybrid... now i'm rather skeptical obout it.

i wonder whether the Jazz sold in Israel (or the Middle East) manufactured (fully or partially) in Jaapn ?

if so, i'm not sure it's safe to buy that car because the radiation level

I have a friend over here who purchased a Jazz in Turkey. Her's is the same as all of the Euro Jazzes which are made in Japan.

Radiation is not an issue and besides Suzuka, Mie (which is where the Fit is made) is about 400 miles away from that nuclear plant. Do a little reading up about what radiation is about.

It's not an issue unless one of the reactors melts down.

Except, the Fit is produced in TWO plants, the second one being in Sayama, Saitama (mine was assembled there). Sayama is a LOT closer to the nuclear reactors in question.

That being said I wouldn't worry too much about it. If radiation were an issue, there'd be a lot more hoopla about it from governments and the UN.

Yeah, if the car is radioactive enough be legitimately dangerous, the factory itself really isn't going to be safe for the workers. Moreover, you can bet that every country is going to be watching Japanese imports for radiation safety.

you rely too much on the system .... who's gonna hoopla a country after such a big disaster ( not counting with the nuclear one)

I would say if someone is worried so much that they wouldn't purchase a car, maybe they need to completely leave "the system".

I'm 290km from the facility and I have yet to develop a tail or wings. Have driven on the outskirts of it twice when drove up to Sendai. Was just 135km away from it when at Honda's Twin Ring complex in Motegi. The Sayama plant is like 270km away and is in operation.

So, what would you say now?
