And lol @ the Mustang and Genesis being the same except one is turbo and one is not.
seriously people. we get it. but if you insist on this...

the geo comment was hyperbole. dont think any of us would own one. (except for the geo that came with like a red-top 4age or something like that lol)

wtf would you attribute the moniker "sports car" to then?

and im pretty sure we have established that the mustang and genesis are not comparable.... when using the 2.0t. but OBVIOUSLY, the n/a v6 WOULD be comparable to the v6 mustang.

ANYWAY. i found the most depressing thread in the world....

I remember reading the early write-ups of the Genesis (4dr). In a nutshell, was dubbed as a clone of 4 or 5 upper tier sedans put together @ $$k less price tag. Then came the coupe ad at the super bowl broadcast. Hey I'd get one if it was on my to-do list.

SSM, drock, everyone will have their inputs. The decision is still yours to make. Hope you're not buying a car to please others. If you're happy, then it's a good buy - for you! Hindsight can drive one crazy... Good luck!

Heheh, I'm with you there about the Fit. Went through similar thought process when the 1st Rex came out in '02. In hindsight, I would have waited for the Sti which came out the next year. Still having fun with my bug eye and I'm ok with it.

I haven't been paying close attention to the later write-ups on the Gen. coupe though.

Ok. The geo thing was obviously for satirical purposes only. The v6 gen isn't turbo'd..
You are entirely too critical.. A "pony" car isn't a sportscar? Are you kidding me?

And just for the sake of not arguing with you and your incredible wisdom you are right about everything from now til the end of time. Holy hell. STFU

NOW BACK TO THE TOPIC!

I would get an SI sedan because of the K20 and the four door looks better than the coupe. Or an S2K since you want a rwd.

in 4 door guise, I think SI stands for See honey? It's practical now!

The plus side of the Genesis over the S2000 is that it's sized for grown-ups. I don't know what the deal is with Honda lately, but they seem to have forgotten how to make cars with legroom. I loved the S2000 until I sat in one; Not sure about the newest Civic, but the '06-'11 models are as cramped as the Fit. I drove my brother's '09 EX coupe home from the bar and it was less than appealing to me. Hopefully they fixed it this year.

The Hyundais seem really spacious in this regard. Maybe Koreans are taller people? (shrugs)

Ok, so I found the car I would get. its not within the same price range, or similiar at all but its rwd, turbo, and effing awesome. 1984 300zx, turbo..duh. ONLY 61,xxx miles :O

im gonna look into straight up selling my fit. calling the dealer tomorrow to see how much they are willing to offer (i know 5spd sports are hard to come by now, or so i believe). KBB says 17K for ppv, and 16,500 for trade in. does that take into account the current demand for Fits? I am officially (as of this month) right side up on my loan :D, so hopefully i would be able walk away free. +get my gap insurance % back.

Neato! A friend's dad had one of those back in high school... Always looked like a mini-4th gen Vette to me!

I like the 4 door because it looks better styling wise. The 2 door looks weird and that's just my preference. I'm 5'11 and don't have a problem with any of those cars. Honda builds cars for the average person not a super tall or fat guy.

Its a nearly 30 year old turbo sports car.

Even if the car is in great mechanical shape when you get it, no matter how well you maintain it....it will have issues. My EF was perfect mechanically, and I spent more time making sure things were in tip top shape than I did driving it...and yet, the electronics still failed completely. That wasn't cheap.

MPG's won't be good, if you crash....good luck, etc.

If you can pull it off, the Z would be an AWESOME! project car or fun nice day car, but I would never have that as my sole transportation.

I understand what you are saying...and trust me, ive thought of all of that lol. like i said before, we are spoiled with the Fit. It has all of those things. But to me, the potential for this car, outways the potential cons.

Ive enjoyed the.. ease and practicality of owning my Fit, but i also enjoyed actually working on my previous cars, and friends cars. its half the fun. BUT, nothing is for sure yet. We'll see in a couple days

That's the downside of being a lanky long-legged guy. The Accord is great in that regard. So was my '01 Civic. I think they do it on their small cars now so they can claim more back seat space. Anyway, /threadjack. ;-)

SSM: You think you could pull it off as fun/project car? If not that specific car, maybe a less expensive Z31?

I really think so. Ive been searching for this kind of thing as of late. Ive been on the hunt for a trueno, cressida, m70 supra, s12 or even an fc. my cousin just got an s12 a few months ago and it has really inspired me. my brother is one phone call away from getting an '86 as well. its the InitialD/Wangan influence lol. its not rare by any means, something like 15000 turbo 84's, but in this shape, im sure not too many. at least not where i live.. rust central

edit; my bro JUST texted me... he may have found himself an s12 seV6! same vg30 (n/a) as the z31 im looking at.

^If buying an S12, I wouldn't go for the V6, but the I4-T version with the CA18, my parents had one when I was really tiny.

And I say do it that way, I think we both know you'll miss the Fit if you have an older car as your only car.

When I get the Fit where I want it, I'm picking up an FC.
