Showcased at MWC in Barcelona

Ford has introduced the Euro-spec 2013 EcoSport this week at Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona.

The new EcoSport will be positioned below the larger Kuga as a more affordable SUV offering from the Blue Oval. It uses Fiesta's platform and will be available with the 1.0-liter EcoBoost engine producing 125 HP (92 kW) and a 1.5-liter gasoline mill with 110 HP (81 kW). There's also a 1.5-liter diesel offering 90 HP (66 kW).

The reason why it was unveiled at this year's MWC is because the EcoSport is packed with technology, such as Ford SYNC voice-activated in-car connectivity system, SYNC Emergency Assistance and Ford SYNC AppLink (a first for a Euro-spec Ford).

The car will also be showcased next week at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show.
