Next-gen Alfa Romeo MiTo could reach stateside

Due in 2016
Alfa Romeo is currently analyzing whether it would be feasible to bring the next-gen MiTo in U.S.
The never-ending Alfa Romeo U.S. return story just added another chapter as apparently the Italians are taking into consideration bringing the 2016 MiTo stateside. It is believed the car will be offered with a new two-cylinder turbocharged TwinAir engine producing approximately 100 bhp (74 kW) which would be compatible with natural gas and biofuel.
The same report indicates a more potent 4-cylinder turbo mill rated at 200 bhp (149 kW). Alfa Romeo is still trying to figure out if a range-topping MiTo Quadrifoglio Verde with more than 200 bhp is worth launching, along with a plug-in hybrid variant.
