CR's latest car reliability survey results

Just an FYI to those who might want to know. Top 10 - (1) Lexus, (2) Toyota, (3) Acura, (8) Honda.

I always look at the used car ratings because what was recommended as a new car may not be recommended as a used car kind of gives you an ideal on problems going out a few years versus a new car. Brands like Audi seem to be rated high one year and the next terrible, same with VW. GTI was recommended for years and recently dropped.

Interesting results

I will say that CR lost all credibility with me after they tried to discredit the Iphone

This rating must be for the first 90-days of ownerhip or slightly longer because the data seems flawed with who is included and excluded

Same here. I pay more attention to the 4-5 yr. track records (CR Consumer Guide). Seems to give me a better feel of the longevity and problem areas that crop up.

This is why I always tell my wife "we can lease a VW or BMW if you want but i'm not buying one".

By the time my free maintenance and warranty is just about up i'm turning the keys in.

good to see japanese brands are still up there in quality, and korean brands nowhere to be found in the top 10.

well, atleast by CR standards which is .. LOL
