So I spent some "quality" time at the DMV this morning registering a vehicle I purchased last Friday. I think it rather compliments my Fit.

It's somewhat larger; okay, it's quite a lot larger.
The engine has 2.5 times the cylinders, but the transmission one fewer gears.
There are twice as many lug nuts, and half again more wheels. You can fit about twice the number of people comfortably sitting down...or lying down, for that matter.
The gas tank holds about five times as much gas, which is good because the milage is a whole lot worse.
It has two more sinks than the fit, one more toilet, and two more showers if you count the outside one. Also one more oven, three more stove burners, one more microwave, one more fridge, and one more table.

I'm calling it the Manor; when I was growing up, our family had a smalish motorhome that we called by that name, with more than a hint of irony. The original Manor is long gone now.

 

Nice! Those are much easier to maintain than those full ground up RVs, now those become a PITA. This looks like a nice and reliable chassis.

Does it have the V10 diesel?

I'm certainly intending to enjoy it! Even just driving to the DMV and back, I'm not sure you could wipe the giddy smile off my face.

There are more than enough things to keep up with maintaining on any motorhome, regardless of type. The Ford chassis should be pretty reliable (and easy to get parts for), since it's more or less a standard F-450/van chassis with a longer wheelbase.

The engine is the Ford gas V10, used in quite a few of their larger vehicles. It seems to have a pretty decent reputation for reliability and works adequately here to pull a big heavy box along. The Fit, of course, is a lot quicker accelerating; maybe it's because of that fifth gear.
