2016 Civic to use turbocharged Honda Fit engine?

I wonder will the 2016 Honda Civic--an all-new model coming this fall--use a turbocharged engine?

The JDM Honda Step WGN "tall wagon," which recently had a new model that went on sale on 23 April 2015, uses a new 150 bhp 1.5-liter turbocharged version of the L15B engine found on the US-market Honda Fit (and was previewed way back in November 2013). And a couple of automotive news web sites pointed out Honda will soon start production of the turbocharged L15B engine at an engine assembly line in Ohio, probably in June 2015. That tells me the new Civic will get the new engine, replacing the Earth Dreams Technology version of the R18 engine that powers the current Civic model.

I think if u read what you posted youll see yes. VTEC.net posted this weeks ago. Every civic will be turbo. SI gets turbo R20 from 1st ILX. CTR gets boosted ED 2.4 from accord.

I'm wondering what the difference will be between the turbo'd L15B and the N/A L15B we have here? Pistons for lower compression? ECU? What else?

Aha ---> Found some info. http://pantip.com/topic/33552848

I'm on it! Thanks!

I don't think they will do much changes aside hw parts and ecu. Most of the engines in EU (like Alfa, VW, Fiat) have 1.4 engine with large power range available for respective trims. You could google it a bit but Alfa for example has 1.4 engine that ranges from 120 to 170 HP depending on the fitting to the same engine.

As you know and have experienced already judging by your posts, it's very hard to lean the engine so the difference between 130 to 150 is negligible in terms of boost. I am almost sure you'll find a small turbo attached to it with not much if any, changes to the engine.

Thanks for your reply. I could not find ANY information on any turbocharged 1.5ltrs before until this post. Now Googling 'Honda Stepwagon' brings up some interesting info.
Honda StepWagon
"The engine produces 150PS (148hp) at 5,500 rpm and 203Nm (150lb-ft) of torque between 1,600 rpm and 5,000 rpm. Combined fuel consumption is rated at 17 km/l (5.9 l/100 km or 40 mpg US) according to Japan’s JC08 cycle. That’s not bad for a six-seat MPV and part of the credit goes to a new CVT developed specifically for the 1.5-liter VTEC Turbo engine. The Step WGN is offered with both front- and all-wheel drive."

'Only' 150hp isn't that exciting. Need to read up more on this engine. Some tuning potential no doubt but we aren't seeing the aftermarket move quickly with our Fits as it is. Good to see that it pairs up with the CVT ok. I don't care about the torque though (150lb-ft). I'd be perfectly happy with a little more torque than stock on the top end but if the CVT is cool with it, so be it.

Anyone have an exploded view of the turbo setup mounted on the 1.5ltr L15B motor? This isn't like any turbo setup that I'm used to seeing.

This pic is clearer:

You can clearly see the inlet piping without filter box and compressor side, turbine side is under the heat shield and cat seems to be directly coupled to it.
