I would have to say "YES" - - I think all of the new cars now record some data like RPM, throttle position, speed, etc.

It says at the front of the owner's manual that the ECU records information, yo. I think all OBDII cars save the conditions at the time a trouble code is raised, yo. However, I doubt it permanently records unnecessary information, since flash memory fails when written too much, yo.

the system im talking about is on the RSX's, it CAN'T be reset and it's for the dealer to see if the damage on the engine is caused by the driver or a factory defect.... the reason i want to know is because my friend miss shifted in my car . nothing happened to it. so lets say something happens to my engine 2 years down the road and i bring it into the dealer will they pull the data and say it was my fault for miss shifting even if it was 2 years ago. can they say that to me...... yo?

Yeah, and I think that the dealer is also gonna have a hard time trying to prove that one incident 2 yrs prior caused enough engine damage to invalidate your warranty. I mean, it would have been running fine for 2 yrs, right?
