Pics of Installed Projectors....anyone?

Hey guys,

I'm about to pick up the projectors that were part of this group buy but would like to know if anyone with an 09 and up have had any problems installing them .....did it require modification of the headlight housing...

retrofits recommends shrouds to hold the projectors, but do I really need it...

also pics would be great, I'm sure I'm not the only one wanting to see this.

Thanks to all who can and do contribute to this forum, I surprise friends and family everytime when they see how much fit owners communicate and help each other out.

Peace

YES the headlight needs to be opened, therefore not under warrantee anymore.

I am not bothering with the "shroud"; the lights are going to look great just as they are! The housing is chrome and matches the inside of the headlight very well.

Well, of cos... they want to sale... but do they tell you that you are adding weight to the projectors (which are heavier than bulbs to begin with) and it may cause the projectors to pitch, row inside the headlight if not properly mounted?

Also, if it falls off, now you need to open the headlight up to remove a part thats not even supose to sit on it?

IMO, a car with angel eye + projector is really good... adding too much things is going to shift your car towards the ricer scale.

Photos of the projectors - SPECIAL THANKS TO BRIAN @ BENZTA to provide demo install

White Angel Eye ON

6000K Projectors ON

Thanks for ordering, I will continue to conduct groupbuys. SO keep this thread alive and help spead the word la... but dun spread it tooo far out~~~

I have recently receive some concerns with the projectors... and I think its a good idea to share with you all.

Hi Guinness,

I also attached a picture that shows the kit for the H7 housing vs the kit for the H4 housing. it is linked below. First picture

http://www.fz6-forum.com/forum/fz6-m...installed.html

LEFT = H7 vs RIGHT = H4

you gave me the one on the left which is NOT going to work in our housing, the twist on threat and the white plastic ring that prevents moisture is WAY too small that the projectors are not going to sit properly.
I have followed up with my uncle and his engineering department. It appears that the LEFT one is indeed H4. There are a number of reasons why the RIGHT is also claimed to be a H4:

1) The above right projector is from a different manufacturer.

2) The left projector is INDEED an H4 that is applicable to our automobiles, the right one pictured above is ALSO an H4, but for motorcycle application.

3) RIGHT H4 projectors will work, but will REQUIRE modification on the reflective backplate of the headlights - thus NOT RECOMMENDED

4) LEFT Projectors has been testing on both the GD and the GE - as show in photos. While fitment will not be exact due to space allowance, this is needed to avoid any modification on the actual headlight casing.

5) If there were to be a major fitment issue, it would be due to the INSTALLERS' error. This product is meant to be installed by a professional.

For any further questions, feel free to send me a PM.

If at any point you have doubts about this product, please save yourself and myself the hassle and do not buy the product.

last question is how do these twist on to the H4 housing of the GE or GD? In the stock headlights, the opening does not look that big nor does it look to have thread for anything to twist on.
I'm not an installer, it would be wise if you ask your installer regarding such question.

Brian @ Benzta did 4 cars so far, so you may want to divert your questions to them =)

Quit basing things on what you THINK.
There have already been multiple GD's, and even a GE that have had this projector kit installed professionally and on their own.

Tomorrow, I myself will be putting my fit under the cutting knife to prove to the sceptics that this kit does indeed work and that this kit Guinness is promoting is not a cash grab. Many of us local and US fitfreaks have put our trust into Guinness regarding this product.

As it has been said before, if you ever have any doubt about this product, just dont buy it. Go source a pair of FX projectors and hack up your own housing yourself.

Guinness will not sell you faulty and experimental products. He has done group buys before and ha always had a successful turnout.

I had planned on doing it this weekend, but it hs been too cold (-2C) for the last couple days, so not only is it cold on the hands, but I would rather not break a bunch of clips!

(My heated garage is full, Mugen CRX in storage, and my K powered EG which is being parted out. Anyone need a K20 for thier fit?)

I will post detailed pics as soon as I get a chance to install.
