Smile WTB/'08 OEM Fit Sport Wheels/Tires with TPMS

Hi folks, as the title says, I am interested in buying 2008 Fit Sport Wheels/Tires that have the TPMS sensors in them.

I have a base Fit and hope to use the base wheels (with the TPMS sensors on it) for snow-tire duty.

I am located in Minnesota (zip code: 55379). Thanks in advance.

I am also looking at wheels with tires without TPMS, because it seems a lot of folks are simply re-using their TPMS sensors in the replacement wheels.

I am assuming that the 07 wheels can also accomodate the TPMS sensors.

True, but I don't think that the '07 model has the capacity for TPMS. You'll need more than just the sensors to be able to use the TPMS in an '07 Fit.

Wow, can you clarify ?

I had assumed that even if I buy the 07 wheels, all I have to do is to separately buy the TPMS sensors and add them onto the wheels. But if this is not so, then I guess I need to stick to 08 wheels.

If your Fit is a 2007 model, the TPMS won't work.

Okay, got you. Mine is a 2008 and hence will need wheels with the TPMS sensors.

So basically if I get 2007 wheels, all I have to do is to get a set of TPMS sensors and fit it onto the wheels and I should be good to go. Right ?

You'll still need to go to the dealer to get your new tpms sensors recognized to your car.

Okay, good to know that. I have been learning quite a bit about these cars the past several days. Thanks.

Doesn't anybody want to sell their stock sport rims/tires or what ?

With the 09 models, Honda expects to sell around 90,000 of them due to the high demand. Hopefully that will bring in a deluge of 09 stock rims into the used market.

closing this thread

I am closing this thread and intend to open a new one, since I have now modified my preference to both 07 and 08 rims, since 08 rims (with TPMS) seem to be too few and far between.
