WTB: salvaged/wrecked 1st gen fit
WTB: salvaged/wrecked 1st gen fit
anyone know of any good sources online to buy wrecked/salvaged 1st gen fits for low prices? needing work is not an issue.. looking for one to build up specifically for autocross, possibly wheel-to-wheel racing (will be a caged car)
looking to stay below $5k if possible

Did you found a source? Im searching for two crashed/totaled GD3 or front ends including powertrain, but its not easy to find something as the most dealers sell the parts separately

Ok I found some auction sites with salvaged cars in the US but the cars are to expensive. No chance to get one under $4.000,-.
I think I'll buy them in Japan, because there are some older and cheapier Fits available. Then I have the LED rearlights, LED side mirrors and LED brake light, too. And it is not a salvaged car.
Compared:
US 2007 Fit, salvaged, low/mid mileage: $4.000+
JDM 2004 Fit, nice condition, mid/high mileage: $3.500+

I see salvage title Fits on eBay frequently. You might also try asking your local import salvage yard if they can locate one for you. Most of the salvage yards in my area are tied into a nationwide network and can get just about anything shipped to them when they need something they don't have. Grade Lane Imports here in Louisville, KY keeps track of insurance auctions nation wide and will buy whole cars just to get a decent engine, etc.
If I use a local agent the price explodes to the double.
eBay has the problem, that the most people won't export and they want the money first. So its risky. And it will be expensive as I need to organize the transport with a german transport agency.
The last point is the price. Did you see a salvage title on ebay under $4.000,-? Can't believe that.

This one is perfect

It's a 5 speed manual for just over $5k with what looks like only a little front end damage.
It's located in Virginia.
