Anyone riding on 205/45R15s?

Just looking to get a new set of tires next spring...

I'm currently rolling on Enkei RPF1 15x7 +41mm offset wheels. The rubber I am using at the moment are General Exclaim UHP 195/55R15.

I need something that has more traction.. I don't really rub anymore (i did for a bit til I did some fender work). And I am not as low as before after swapping my Tein springs for the J's/Showa suspension kit.

I was going to try 205/50R15s in the Toyo T1Rs, but I noticed that they sell these tires in a 205/45R15.

I think I may run into a bit of a rubbing issue if I go with the 205/50, but maybe, just maybe I could run the 205/45s without any problems.

I know that running the 205/45 will throw my speedo off by about 3mph slower at 65pmh. But that is ok by me.

So, given the offset of my wheels, do you guys have any input on which size to go with? 205/50 or 205/45?

wow, that's some baller ass suspension... any who, I honestly think you'll be straight with 205/50's.

so fenders are roller or shaved? running any negative camber? (do the J's even have that option?)

The new suspension is ok

No adjustability, so no negative camber. My fenders are slightly rolled, thats about it.

The 205/50x15 are 23.07" dia and the 195/55x15's are 23.44" being a half inch smaller should mean the 205/50x15's won't rub even with 41 mm offset 15x7 wheels. I run 205/50x15's on 42 mm offset 15x7 and I don't rub. It is pretty close but you say you have some fender mods already so I think youre good. Especially with a turbo.
The 205/45x15's are only 22.26" dia so surely they will fit. But you'll look like youre driving a grocery cart. And the turbo will spin the small tires like crazy. T1R's are too costly to waste.

I have 205/50s with +41 on stock suspension and I rub like crazy with more than 2 people in the car.

Go to the Suspension and Brakes Post Section and find the ones relating to substituting Monroe MA811 Air Lifts for 82-94 cavaliers for the stock rear shocks. Its a virtual direct replacement. Lots of photos from ones who have done it. your rear overloads then disappear with 60 psi air pressure.

Is it just the rear that is rubbing or the front as well?

Only the rears hit, the fronts will rub on full wheel lock though.

Sounds like a few ppl have rubbing issues tho with the 205/50s.. I would be changing up to a 205 for the width, vs a 195 for more grip.. I'm not too sure how bad it would look with 205/45s tho.. I don't i've actually ever seen that size...

anyone have a close up pic of a 205/50 on thier car? I've seen Illusive's wheels with 195/50s and it didn't look bad at all.. the 205/45 shouldn't be much worse right?

Here are some pics when I was running your exact set-up. Those are Toyo T1Rs.

I experienced a little bit of rubbing, but it really wasn't too bad at all. The 205/45s will look waaaayy too small. If you have rolled fenders a little bit, I honestly wouldn't worry about it.

I was running 50's. I don't think you'll have any trouble at all.
