it's a very little thing i know, but the SSR Type-F of specs you listed is supposedly 9.7 lbs/wheel, not 10.2.

Also, not useful. Why use a 7.5" rim when 7" is better for 195/205 tire geometry and the 7.5 weighs 17.8 pounds. There are lots of 10 to 15 lb wheels that work a lot better ... and cost less.If all you know is wider you need to study better.

I have yet to see any 18's that meet the strict specifications to be rub-free & lightweight

Not saying it isn't possible though

Ill probably be ordering some TSW Trackstar 4's in 15X6.5 +45 in the next coming days. When they get here I'll post an accurate weight of the wheel.

That will be awesome data to post up, I came really close to pulling the trigger on a set myself. I wasn't able to find any info on the weight.

I have heard rumors that they might be as low as 12lbs each.

I used 16x7 +40 wheels with 205-45-16 falken ziex 512 tires last summer on the track (stock suspension) and yes it rubbed but really only for the first few corners...I lost 2 small plastic clips on the passenger side and I was OK after that !! It only touched when the front suspension was bottoming out. On the street nothing ever touched even with 5 people in the car!

For this summer I have some new 205-40-16 falken rt-615 and eibach pro-kit springs (not installed yet). Since the diameter is quite smaller I should be ok. Can't wait to try this new setup on the track!

Good to know, I have heard of Falken's being better than other tires when it comes to clearances. Even going from a 45 to a 40 series will give you a bit more clearance, especially if you are right on the threshold.

One thing I think people overlook is while a "touch" around the city might not be a big deal, it will distroy things quickly on the track.

lol, I know the feeling I was thrilled when my setup finally stopped rubbing

The new wheels; they weigh in at 37lbs with tires.

(Updated the wheel weight of the C10 from 12lbs to 13lbs.)

No worries, I posted up a slipstream that had cratered in the middle sometime back. I am not too concerned about the fit generating the kind of forces needed to twist apart this rim though

What the hell happened to the tire on that rim?
