So the problem might be that I forgot to bleed the system. The rad DID take a fair amount of fluid to fill to the top, haha. I'll find out tomorrow if that was the problem, seems most likely! Live and learn again. 😁

That was the problem! All is well now and base can stay removed.

Got the direct port mostly finished. Need to rearrange some wiring but it turned out pretty well I think.

Was able to wash it today! Direct ports almost done. Pretty happy with the result so far.

Looking forward to the video.

I'm going to have to install a new clutch in my second gen sooner than later.

Installed the lightweight summer battery, hooked up the bottle and tested the nitrous system for leaks. Unfortunately I ran out of nitrous, but no leaks anywhere to be found. Looks like I'll be filling that in the near future, hopefully the shop here will have it in by the end of May.

Clutch and flywheel are being installed tomorrow! Dropping the car off to a mechanic at 9 am, will hopefully be complete by the end of the day. 🤓

Clutch and flywheel installed. Going to break them in before I really test them out but so far I like it. Noticeable ease going through the revs, like going from a heavy set of wheels to a lighter set. Here's a vid:

Sounds good. Seems like the light flywheel helps the RPMs climb a little quicker.

Yes definitely climbs faster and revs easier, you can easily feel the loss in weight. 😁

Interesting developments. Function and form coilovers are failing hard now in the front. Wifey didn't want to spend any more money on new suspension. So now it looks like we may be leasing a new GK, and this car will be off the road finally....let the gutting begin!

My lightweight mirrors came in. Damn are they ever light, 131 g or 0.29 lbs. OEM mirrors weigh 2.55 lbs each, so that's 4.4 lbs saved, not including the bracket I'll need to make to get these to fit. And at 48 CAD SHIPPED, it's a good deal.

Also, we got our 2018 GK Sport CVT with Honda Sensing. What a great progression from the GD! Very comfortable and great features...the family is much happier driving in that. It's nice to be more comfortable but I admit I'm a little bummed I can't drive the GD everyday. On a brighter note now I can remove the muffler silencer, gut the interior, etc!

Thanks, the bells and whistles sure are nice!
Got the mirrors mostly done. The plate can be improved upon but its good enough for now. Doesn't look too terrible! Also got most of the interior out. Going to relocate the nitrous bottle to the front passenger floor board area so I won't need the remote opener, also to run a shorter nitrous line and for better weight distribution. Found a few small water leaks have creeped back but nothing serious. Selling most of the interior items if anyone needs any plastic trim! 😂
