The way that they have handled this sours me on all of their products- past, present, & future. I would not trust them.

You guys know that AJR has a T1R rear disc conversion kit right? It's not cheap but if you really wanted rear discs you can get them.

The reason we wanted the Skunk2 kit, smatts, is because it was going to be $650. They are having a hard time getting the kit made and be able to sell it for $650... they said the real price would be more about $750... we will see. im still communicating with them.

I would have been in for $750. Not so sure anymore based on their lack of communication and sincerity. But you did your best, so thanks.

I'll talk to ksport this week, when i pick up my coilovers. He was shooting for $600-$700 I believe. They were/are hesitant to make them because of skunks previous commitment to do so and didnt think the market could justify more than one kit.

Their current brake kits are very nice, actually. They used my wrx to mock up their rear kit for that, so I have a good relationship with them already.

wgnths,
See, you've already got the support of two of us. If the rest of the 30 or so on the list even check this thread anymore, you will probably have the interest of many of them as well.

Thanks for your post, and please keep us advised.

Ok, talked to Nick at Ksport today. Since Skunk doesn't seem to be doing anything now, they are very interested in getting this kit done.

He will be contacting me within a weeks time, to schedule a day for me to drop off my Fit for them to do measurements.

They are a bit busy right now, getting their drift and time attack cars ready for the '08 season, but Nick is pushing this project towards the top of the list.

They'll keep my car for a day or two, send out the measurements and i'll bring the car back in for parts fitment. At that point, I'll be testing the kit for a solid week for effectiveness and quality assurance. I assure you, even though I'm friends with Nick, I'll make sure it's something worthy of my standards.

Price is looking to be $650, which includes calipers, rotors and ss lines. Possibly coming with a blank rotor to match the stock fronts, and a slotted option at additional cost...nothing set in stone yet, other than price should be right at that point.

Mods, please pm or post where you would like this information posted from here on out, as it really shouldn't be in skunks section. thanks.

for those truly interested, please send me a pm so i can get a list together to show ksport that we really want this.

wgnths,
Only 28 posts, and you're a hero already! sy11580 made a great suggestion-
start a new thread to collect your list of participants, and keep people from getting lost with this old one. I will post my name as soon as I see your new thread. Thanks very much for pursuing this!!

Happy New Year (you have already started it off on a positive note for the Skunk2 kit people).

Skunk2---BOO! Ksport--- YAY!!

Dave

Will the kit include the ebrake cable as well? Most kits Ive seen don't even mention this part.

Same here, it sounds like money well spent, my only problem is that i dont trust myself with such a big job lol. Is it a really difficult job and whats involved in the process?

Your answer is on the new Ksport thread in the Guage Interest Group Buy forum.

According to information from other fitfreaks who also are Skunk2 dealers, this group buy project failed because crucial group buy information was withheld, and never posted on this thread.

If Skunk2 feels that they are being held responsible for this failure, and that this is an unfair judgment, NOW would be a very good time for them to post on this thread to clear things up. Otherwise, they are likely to lose face, trust, and the market for Honda Fit rear disc brakes to other manufacturers.
