What color did you get? There are a lot of Fits up in Austin, and from what I saw last time we were up there, a lot of them are orange...I wonder why???

@ Stormfit28 if you want some ideas there are a lot of people that post progress threads like mine in my signature. Check out mine and others. Take what you like and leave the rest! Definitely check out the wheels section prior to changing wheels and tires. There is also a thread for lowering the car. There's a lot of great info here.

Welcome! This is a really great forum - tons of nice folks and an amazing amount of help with any question. I guess with the wheels, you just need to find some you like, and make sure they are 5-lugs so they fit the Fit. I like the way Ray's look on his SSM. I want to get some black with chrome rims but now I have to buy a set of tires So it's not in the budget presently.

I haven't been able to post due to problems with Hughes net service since Tuesday before last.. That same day we had to to evacuate the place due to a wild fire that burned what I was told amounted to 6000 acres... I didn't lose any thing this time like I did on New Years eave 1999 when the Forest Service had to run a bulldozer about 150' from the house and my dog kennels were burned... They said that the fire lanes I had cut with my tractor is all that kept my house from burning that time but fortunately for me the fire didn't make it here this time because my tractor died and I have no fire lanes.. I'll be shopping for an all wheel drive tractor soon... My car smells like smoke inside it now from having to drive through heavy smoke but I'll use my ozone generator to take care of that.

Fixed in bold for ya. But like Juliane said this is definitely a helpful forum to be on. Just be sure to use the search function before asking questions in the form of a new thread because in most cases the subject has been covered before but ends up being pushed back a page or more on certain sub-forum pages. If you can't find the answer you're looking for or need more details, then definitely post up your questions on that subject.

@ Juliane: I vote gold or bronze wheels for you BBP . They would look so clean in combination with that factory dark blue/purple paint job in my honest opinion. Unless of course those black and chrome (or machined for that matter) wheels are like the Konig Britelites for example... then those with a set of lowering springs would look mighty tasty. But of course, its your Fit and you'll be changing it up to your liking...

Thanks, Hootie!!!! I should probably get an infraction for telling a noob there are more lugs on our wheels than there really are...

I like those Konigs! Nice. Very nice! Not a fan of the gold, myself. And I like the look of the black spokes with chrome outside rim...but, not in the budget for now. I must buy new tires this week. And with 1 son in college and 1 a senior in HS learning to drive, I am hemorrhaging money....it's scary, I hope there will be something left for hubby and me to live on once they are finished....next year they will BOTH be in college....

Ha, its ok. Twas a simple typo and you are welcome Juliane.

I totally understand where you're coming from budget wise. The economy still sucks after it plummeted back in Oct. of '08, the dollar isn't worth much still, and the cost of pretty much everything is high. I wish your son the best of luck in college, hope you can get those tires you need, and still be able to make ends meet. Also just a thought, I've heard that people can put college books and tuition on their taxes. That might be something to check out.

Howdy..........another new TX member checking in here.

I purchased my Milano Red 2009 Base Fit automatic from a local stealership a few weeks ago.

It's replacing my last commuter car, a 1997 Geo Prizm, that served me well for my 80+ mile daily grind. The Geo (with a Toyota drivetrain) was a great little car, even with 200K miles, but the manual windows/locks, lack of true child seat safety anchors, etc. meant it was time to put the girl to pasture.

The Fit, or "Matilda", as my 5 1/2 yo named her, had 19K on the odo. So far, I've only had the windows tinted, removed the factory mudflaps/pinstripe and installed an aftermarket alarm.

As this is my daily commuter (still have my Tundra for "truck" stuff) and given that I may live in a nice place but I work in a high-crime part of town, I don't plan on doing a ton of exterior mods to the Fit (or, at least, not easily-noticed mods) . BMV's in my area are just way too common to risk attracting attention.......

Only external mod on my short list at the moment would be replacement wheels: Acura Blades, Fat Fives or even Meshies, but I also like the simple look of some 99-00 Civic Si 7-spoke wheels. Those will come about the time these tires wear out.

Next mods will be interior sound deadening and audio. If anyone can link me to some good threads on front/rear speaker installations/modifications, to allow for deeper-depth speakers, you'd be my hero. I've been installing my own systems for 20 years now and the Fit won't escape the consequences of my trained ears.

Overall, great forum y'all have here. Glad to be a member.

Sup Texas fitfreaks! Just checking in... man, it's been forever since I've been on.

Still have the fit, and it's still lowered, but basically everything else is off.

How's everyone been?

I thought about you when I was in Waco yesterday. So your still on the Skunk2 coil over kit or something else? You ever run into or see a flat black Civic 2 door hatchback around there?

Hey Dee, good to hear from you. Still making the drive to Waco, huh? At least you're making money off it since you drive the fit.

I am still on the Skunk2's. Would like to eventually get them off, but just haven't had the time or motivation to do so yet.

I actually do think I've seen lowered flat black civic hatch. Not sure if that's the one you're talking about.

I'll be moving to Tennessee in the coming month for a job I just accepted. If you're in the area before them, let me know. I'd love to see the super charger one more time.

I don't think a Cars and Coffee meet will be going on this week since they usually go on the 1st Saturday of the month if I remember right. Might have something going on at MSR Houston though. What days will you be down?

@FortHoodFIT Tonight I'm going to check out the Whatthefitment weekly meet at Krogers in the Woodlands, and tomorrow night Wek'Fest Pre-Meet at Baker Jackson Nissan 6pm-9pm. I will be late cause I get off work @ 6pm. It'd be cool to meet you since I missed out on the MSR meet... PM me if you want info on either of these meets.
