Of course I always stay to the right lane if it is open. I have been up to 90 mph and the FIT seemed lass stable then my RSX at 150 so I don't push it much. Of course the RSX feels better since it is mode for track racing.

and yea I like Mr. O too
Maybe it's just my Fit, but at 100 mph (160 km/h) the dashboard, including my XM sat radio mounted in the vent, starts shacking a lot, never does it at lower speeds including 90 mph, maybe the tires are not prepared for speeds at and over 100 mph!!!

No, not Republican or Conservative, as directly attached to these two Political Parties in US and Canada, just a humble but very proud (christian) traditionalist and a very strong supporter of the military and all its patriotic missions shamefully many people are opposed to...

Never miss 8:00 PM show on FNC (got Dish Network at home) and 12-2 afternoon on XM (ch. 168, Fox News Talk) in the car... all together FNC is my favorite news channel, the only one fair, balanced and... unafraid
Take care now

Actually, I (one of the mileage forum mods) moved it, just because the discussion here has nothing to do with that thread's subject (manual transmission mileage reports) any more, and that thread is really really long already, which makes it hard to search and slow to load....

... and to remind people to abstain from personal attacks on this subject, which tends to stir up heated argument on any forum I've seen it discussed.

(For what it's worth, I find the lack of lane discipline among North American drivers annoying.)

So why you're afraid to challenge those that do not have any respect for, in this case is lane discipline, and the one at fault is member litesong with his/her own social statement about global warming (which has nothing to do with mileage either!!!!!!!!!!), instead you went silent about that and when you saw that I was winning my argument (Gordio did not have any beef with my facts) you just went on a liberal attack and closed-off the debate before you said even a word against litesong's social statement... and that's other reason why I really HATE political correctness!

Actually I kinda did have soem beef for your comments...I think you come off too strong. Be more nice. I amost forgot I'm a mod (i've been a mod less than a month), and now that I think about it, I think i have to fulfil my responsibility and let you know that you're coming off a little too strongly when you disagree with people.

When you have to live in a 90% liberal area (while Canada now has a Conservative Gov, pretty much like Republicans in US, Conservatives have won no seat in my area, and my area is the largest in Canada, 5 mil people) you have to do something in order to survive the freaking liberal ideology, not doing that and you will just become one of them... 100% of all Canadian TV media (commentaries and TV anchors) is liberal, you are not allowed to say a politically incorrect word, my only choice to see what's outside the liberal iron curtain is FNC... so, for the past 5 years, but especially after the Iraq war started, I had to verbally fight with 9 out of 10 people, also all social issues liberal love so much, homosexual marriage, illegal immigration, abortion, not to forget the freaking multiculturalism (I call it the modern segregation), etc., so for me it's normal and mandatory to respond to all liberal statements, not doing that will make me an accomplice to them and better kill me than become one of them... in Canadian mass-media is forbidden to present opinions that debate the liberal ideas, people are afraid to do that, they fear they will get fired, demoted, reprimanded, etc, global warming is another issue, no debate on global warming allowed on TV... so, either I keep myself quite and accept everything or... be who I am, fair, balanced and unafraid... and damn proud of my believes...
BTW, how is life under the Pelosi/SF Values strong rule???
No hard feelings whatsoever, I never take things like this too personal...
Have a great week ahead
Chris
PS Very true, I enjoy very much annoying liberals with my political INcorrectness, so anytime I see or have, including Internet forums, a liberal around me... he/she is mine... I never initiate the debate, I always RESPOND to the initial commentary as clearly was our case...

  • There are what I'd consider personal attacks on both sides in this thread. If your (and by "you" I mean any poster) "opponent" drops dead tonight, that wouldn't change the minds of a million people who'd agree with him, and it certainly wouldn't change the facts of the matter you disagreed on. I'd suggest people address the subject, not the person.
  • No debate has been closed off; I only moved the thread, and I'm sure more people will read this thread on its own than read past the hundreds of posts in the MT thread.
  • That being said, an admin moved this thread out of the mileage forum, and I no longer have moderator privileges on it.
  • I doubt anyone could accurately guess my politics from what I've written on FitFreak.net. This isn't the place for it, especially while I also have the role of a forum moderator. (There are other forums, automotive and otherwise, where I also post under my initials, but then there are plenty of other people with the same initials; someone who really, really, wanted to could perhaps tell the difference from my writing style.)
  • A long time ago, on a forum far far away, I had a moderating job that got me bona fide death threats. I have a pretty thick skin now.

Don't worry my friend, no hard feeling at all towards you or anyone else, all I've done was to RESPOND to someones' SOCIAL statement on global warming when that thread was (is) just about our beloved Fit and its good and maybe not too good things... that poster wanted to make a social statement and I reacted accordingly, this is not an environmental forum or if it is just let me know and I'm outta here in a sec... but so far I think that we all should tack about our Fit and not trying to bring our own social or political views, but when I see one that has nothing to do with the purpose of this forum nothing can stop me to respond directly to that particular poster...
And of course I knew it that not you or Gordio has moved this thread to the Garbage bin, Wasteland, and by my understanding, all administrators are not located in NA, they have been in this forum way before Fit showed-up in Canada and US so they are not Canadians or Americans, my guess only, so different approach to our NA kind of debates...
Regardless, take care of yourself, enjoy your little Fit and always drive safely
Respectfully,
Chris

hahaha you guys are hilarious with all your lane-courtesy nonsense. In calgary there is only one freeway that has a fast lane... otherwise you drive wherever... maybe you should adopt this! It works amazing... if someone is going too slow... you just go around!

Clarifying statement to Runtie

Hi Runtie...Agree with you that it is hilarious...specially since this thread never was about lane courtesy. The lane courtesy idea was introduced by CB19 to disguise his 100MPH reckless law breaking which he freely admits. He tries to hide behind THE Lane Courtesy Law to get me out of his way(tho I never was in his way). CB19's attempt to chastise me for using a global warming(& pollution in general) statement in support of slowing down was inappropriate. The original thread my global warming statement was on was titled Eco Fit.

The original thread these posts appeared in was Mileage reports: Manual transmission (5MT).

Eco-logy, Eco-nomy... and people who like the technical challenge of getting a mileage 'high score' can post too. It's a car forum, not a loyalty test.

I assume Canada does not have the same amount of traffic issue as we do here in California. Unless it is like 12 am you can not maintain 90 mph for more than a mile or two before hitting heavy traffic( These are 4 and 5 lane freeways ). The normal speed on our freeways are 70-75 in a 65 zone. In the FIT I will do 65 and get passed by all the Semi trucks that tend to do 70.

being that the population of Canada equals the entire population of California I would agree it is safe to say that we don't have the traffic problems you have. Here in Calgary, traffic sucks most of the time but that is because of the infrastructure. We are the fastest growing city in Canada and the roads can't handle a million people. So we also have a lot of sitting in traffic because the roads only have 2 lanes!!! lame!

Never assume, unless you're pretty sure you're right... and you're very wrong... Canada is a FEDERAL country exactly like USA, each province is different than the other, exactly like every state in US... to make the story very short, Toronto area where I live, about 5 mil people, is the most crowded area in entire NA, used to be LA (including all illegal aliens that liberals love so much) but since 1993 Liberals in Canada have opened borders to ANYBODY and since then 250,000 people/year came to Canada and out of those about 50% settled in my area only... back to roads now, in my area we have freeway 401 that links Montreal with Detroit which is the busiest road in entire NA (the Detroit-Windsor Ambassador Bridge is the busiest border crossing in entire NA), in my area 401 is got 8 lanes per way, 4 for the expressway and 4 for collectors (where you can get in or out), 8 lanes for about 40-50 miles E-W and still during rush hours (mornings and early evenings) you're lucky doing 20 mph, why?, there is no more room for vehicles as was the case 10-15-20 years ago, then you add all the trucks that provide the food we all buy in our stores, so you're lucky if you're able to get a clear drive for more than 20 miles with no forced stop at all... crashes are something very normal here, I see about 4-5/day as I drive a lot (about 300 miles/day), mostly because getting a driving licence is a social (letting minorities not feel like minorities anymore) and economical (a big business for the gov, no driving skills easier for you to crash so more money for the body shops, for the insurance comp and the gov takes tax on every profit) issue, they do not care if people do not know how to drive, important is to have more and more people in a car regardless of their ability to operate a vehicle so they can buy a vehicle and bring more money to the gov...
Speed is never the sole cause of a crash, when you do not know how to manage speed (either you have no driving experience, or you're too young, or you think that others will accommodate you) and then yes, you will crash (including when doing just 10 over the speed limit)... the main cause for crashes is driver distraction, talking on a phone while driving, not paying attention to the road ahead, not giving signal anytime you change lanes, driving too slow and forcing others to tailgate you cause they have no more room on the left to pass you, these are the main factors for crashes nowadays...
I run a CB Radio in my car (truckers always advice each other about road hazards, cops on the road, etc.) and you have no idea how much they hate this type of driving conditions especially when 4-wheelers force them to drive slow, unfortunately they are not allowed to use the left lane like everybody else...
In Ontario speed limit is 60 mph (the lowest in NA) but they do not stop you for doing 15 over, but if you have a good RD, also a scanner, a CB and you know very well the roads, it's next to impossible to get pulled over, I think my last ticket was over 3 years ago (and even so, you ask for trial, you adjourn the trial, the cop does not show-up and all charges dismissed) and I do a lot of 80-90 mph driving, 100 is very rarely as I hate burn too much gas plus I'm always forced to slow down by the freaking crowded traffic in front of me...
I've covered the roads of 45 states so far, including the area where you live, Vegas to LA to San Diego (and Tijuana) and then eastbound to Arizona, no such madness in your area like in my area, lucky you, damn me...
Have a nice day and always drive safely,
Chris

PS I plan on visiting Northern California one day, SF for instance, but I'm afraid the Pelosi people won't be too thrilled to see people like me (as in pro-Bush) around them, LOL...

CB19 made a statement I can agree with. About illegal aliens...We tribal people on the so-called N., S., & Central American continents should have kicked the Europeans out of here beginning with Columbus. The Africans & Asians should have done the same thing....Oh, those European illegal aliens!

OMG that is too much fore me to read my eyes are hurting. Cliff notes Canada has allot of traffic too and you want to visit SF ohh and I was not attacking your driving. I was just pointing out that you could not do it here. I live in Sacramento which is about 2 hour drive from SF. Don't worry about the liberals they only like to do slap fighting.

hahahahahah *cough*

cb.... your rhetoric is not only baseless, but the more you respond, the more you contradict yourself. And by the way... the military is in dire need of troops... perhaps you would be willing to enlist and go fight the "good fight" that you are so fond of??? And on a closing note:

1. 1MPH over the limit= speeding. whether prosecuted or not, it's still speeding.

2. a: fossil fuel combustion= damage to the environment.
b: speeding= reduced fuel economy.
c: reduced fuel economy= more fossil fuel combusted.
d: see "a:"
e: if you cannot tie the four above mention facts together, give up.

3. The US Constitution stipulates the right to life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness... to conservatives, liberals, libertarians, christians, muslims, catholics, taoists, buddhists, heterosexuals, homosexuals, and everyone else, so long as it does not impose upon another's free will. if the world took a quarter of the energy that it puts into hating something and used it for something positive, we would all be in a much better place.

I served some good years in the military (infantry), early '80s before heading to University, very proud of doing it, very proud of serving my country, then I got an honorable discharged... WHAT ABOUT YOU?????????????

DO YOU LOVE OR HATE (Rosie O'Donnell style) YOUR OWN COUNTRY, do you unconditionally support your troops anywhere they fight for YOUR freedoms?
